We are at son's home since beginning of this year, his 4 year old washing machine has started giving problems, when the spinner runs, you feel as if a plane is flying over this apartment at low height, one man came from service centre, pu some cleaner chemical in the drum, he charged 300 as cost of chemical and 280 as service charge, it ran ok for a day only..
Next day he came said bearing is to be repaced cost is 4200/- but no service charges, this means too much of expenses..
So hubby took our son to Samsung dealer, bought a 6.5 kg fully automatic machine for this home, this is our gift to them, well the old machine was taken by him for 1000 rupees only
So what machine you use for cloth washing, or you prefer washing by hand, you use soaps or detergents?
Please tell me
thanks in advance

I have an automatic washing machine, but I also have a wringer washer, which I love to use when I have the time. I like to get the wash done early in the day so I can hang it out to dry. In the winter when it's cold, it can take a long time to dry. I got a washboard for Christmas - I'd been wanting one, so now I can wash small things and scrub stains out a lot easier by hand.

I really need to get a wash board. But in a way I'd feel lost using it, as it's something from previous generations. However, as sometimes I can't use my washer due to water troubles or the fact that kids are rough on clothes (stain wise) it may be a good investment.

Hi. Kalyni2011. I wash my clothes by washing machine only. If I wash any clothes by hand, it is because I really need something clean to wear or for my kids. We don't have a washing machine and dryer at home. My husband plans to get one, at least within a month or two months from now. I think that the man from the service center charged too much for the washing machine services. I am glad that your son has a brand new washing machine from his father. That is what he needs!

That is so awesome that you can help your son out like that!! I have to use a laundry mat right now. (SOme call it a waashateria) It costs me 3 dollars for each load to wash and dry. I hope to get a bigger place so that I can save that money!

We use Whirlpool semi automatic washing machine and now thinking of replacing it as it is 9 years old and now the lid in the drier is not closing properly and since 1 week washing drum is also not working. Anyway it worked all these years for what we have paid for it.

I have a whirlpool large capacity washer. Dryer stacks on top. I have had it about fourteen years. I use a home made soap. I use vinegar in the rinse. I feel like that keeps the need for cleaning down. It is nice of you to buy the new washer for your son's home. I hope it lasts a really long time.

we have a washer that we have had for a few years but our dryer is as old as our oldest daughter (17 years) and it is giving me problems also, so i have been air drying my clothing in the basement (since our furnace pops on during the winter, it dries the clothes faster.)

Hi Kalyni2011
Good luck with new machine)) We use samsung. It makes noise but we just ignore it. There is second one in the bathroom - my grandmas, she now lives with us. We didn't get around to selling it, so it just takes place. annoying.
Samsung is really good brand, you will use it for quite long time.
Have a nice day-))
