Australia and its devastating situation

I can barely look at the television as all news would show footage of the current situation in Australia. It's heartbreaking to watch people lose their homes and some family members due to the floods. A local celebrity who has family in Australia even tweeted that she was told by her family that the area covered by the floods is bigger than the areas of Germany and France combined. It's really devastating to learn see people suffer. It's been several days and the floods are not showing any signs of calming down. More and more areas are getting affected and more and more people are losing everything. It's sad especially because I have friends in Australia. I am not sure whether they are directly affected by the floods but the thought of their country drowning in the hands of nature is depressing. I can only offer my prayers to them. I really, really hope and pray that this will be over soon. That the Australians will bounce back into how they once were. Let's all pray for their safety. Let's all hope that the death tolls will not continue to rise. Let's all hope that it ends soon.

I know a few people who were affected by this recent flooding in Brisbane and surrounds. I am close to Brisbane, but my city somehow managed to miss being flooded this time around. Areas to the south, west, and north were all affected but we missed out thankfully, even though our local rivers were flowing very fast and high for many days. The flooding is extremely bad and not just confined to one area of the country. There have been lives lost, but nothing too bad when you compare it to the devastation in Pakistan last year. We have the infrastructure here to avoid massive catastrophes, plus we have very little population compared to Pakistan. The waters have receded here in Queensland, but in Victoria, there were still threats of more flooding yesterday.
