RNC chair Michael Steele is bowing out of the election for his seat. He was holding second place. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/01/14/republicans-select-new-party-chief/ would you have stayed and fought? I would have bowed out as well. It seems his usefulness is over.

It's morning here where I live laglen ... so, I'll say good morning to you!;) Quickly, where in the world do I think "trickle down economics" came from ... well if memory serves, from the dear, infamous President Ronald Reagan!! That one who is also credited for dismantling this nation's mental health policies and not helping to enact a reasonable policy. Have to go now, it's Saturday, many chores to do ... maybe catch ya later ... please enjoy your week-end.

Here's a fun one. Say the last name of the new RNC three times fast. Anyone know how to pronounce it?

Well it was a losing battle for him. Even if he won, he'd still be getting a lot of crap. He once said that he felt he was being held to a higher standard because he was black. He was wrong, he was being held to A standard because he was black. Most people can't even name a single RNC chairman before him. Nobody cared who they were or what they did. People actually look at and listen to him. 1 year from now we'll be back to nobody knowing, or caring, who the RNC chairman is just as nobody cares about the DNC chairman.

Yep, does anyone know who the new RNC chairman is? Do you care? Haha. Just kidding. On a side note, I have never heard of the New RNC chairman before the election.

It was time for Steele to go. He probably should have been ousted awhile back. He left the Party in a mess the way I see it. I don't know anything about the new guy... So I'll hold judgement until I see/know more. But he's got his work cut out for him that's for sure. And 2012 isn't that far away.

I agree. I hope he does a little better. The Republican Party as an organized group, I do not like. I have to wonder where in the world they get their ideas. I am registered with them so that I may caucus. I figure there has to be SOME voice of reason.

I don't like either Party. I left the R Party in 2004 and haven't found a reason to return, even if it meant I could vote in the primary. I thought about being a D just so I could vote in that primary, but I just can't... So I guess I'll just remain an I, and hope that someday they change state law and allow us non-partiers to vote in the primaries.

This is something most politicians need to learn. One can't stay in politics forever and they need to let fresh blood come through the ranks etc. Call old politicians stale bread, they useless and take up space on ones table. Doesn't seem like his nomination is working out so well as his choice is falling way behind in the count.
