I swore off NXT after Season 2, but I decided to give it a look. Well, the wrestling is not they're still doing those stupid physical challenges that turned me off in the first place. Still I don't know, there is some kind of charm to it now that's its strictly on the Internet. Given some of the comments that slip by, its obvious that Vince is not even bothering to watch this show. There is a couple of things that were wink-wink borderline un-PG. I don't know, its not the worst show ever anymore. I think that goes to TNA Impact about in 2007 where they tried to cram about three hours of story into a one hour show and it was disjointed. I'm going with Derrick Bateman winning, given his pro is Daniel Bryan but I wouldn't be surprised by see Conner O' Brain or Brodius Clay win. So yeah, this is a show that's not bad a lot of the times and its not good. I think that its obvious that the announcers, the wrestlers, and perhaps the writing staff all are amusing themselves to get through an hour out of the week and more power to them.

I tried to watch season 3...
I don't blame them for yanking that mess of a show off television. A divas season was a very bad idea, because the WWE hasn't had a respectable womens division is a long time. You know it's bad wen the commentators are taking pot shots.
I'm fine with challenges as long as they have something to do with wrestling. An obstacle course where you have to run through tires(speed and agility), run to the ring and try to take down Khali(probably more speed, and a little trickery), and smack Michael Cole before doing your taunt.
That is what they should have the rookies do. The word association thing would be great, if these guys didn't take it so serious, and instead went out of their way to have fun with it.
I hope Tough Enough comes back as the show I remember it as, and not just more NXT antics.

NXT Season 3 was a season that I really did miss. I only saw clips of it on Superstars and what I saw of it was not too promising. I mean, it was like the worst parts of the Diva Search combined with the worst parts of NXT and it was just not a good thing. Another Diva Search actually might have been better. At least during that they were not trying to wrestle.
Tough Enough I'm interested to see where exactly they go with that to be honest with you. Especially with who the trainers are going to be, since Al Snow is locked up in TNA as a road agent. Regal maybe, or Finlay. Or if its going to be anything like the Tough Enough of old. Its been about six years since Tough Enough and if I recall correctly, the last Tough Enough, the one that aired like a chunk of Smackdown, was kind of like a prototypical version of NXT.
Of course, I really do hope that Tough Enough will be a better vehicle to establishing some stars. Just look at the past winners.
Maven: I liked Maven actually, and thought he could have been something in a few years. Maybe not a World Champion but a solid high midcarder. He just kind of fizzled out and I don't think he's in wrestling.
Nidia: Her pairing with Jamie Noble as the trashy Redneck couple was great stuff. I thought they could have done more with that. Out of wrestling now or at least I have not heard anything involving her recently.
Jackie Gayda: Wasn't that good in the ring. Married Charlie Haas and is now out of the business.
Linda Miles: I will remember Linda Miles until the day I die based on a story that Jim Cornette told about her being the absolute worst wrestler he had to deal with in Ohio Valley Wrestling back in the day. and I'm sure Mr. Cornette has experienced some bad wrestlers in his day, so that's um high praise. Or low praise maybe.
(Kenny King was also on Tough Enough Season 2 and he's doing fairly good enough for himself in Ring of Honor)
Matt Capotelli: Sadly, had a brain tumor, which forced him to retire I believe. I do think he would have been pretty decent had life not interjected himself.
John Hennigan: Aka Johnny Nitro aka John Morrison...okay he's doing fairly well for himself. So that's a win right there.
Daniel Puder: He took down Kurt Angle for real. He got a million dollars for winning Tough Enough 4. Then he got beaten up in the Royal Rumble and sent to OVW, never to be seen on WWE TV again. Did some MMA, did a couple of guest appearances in Ring of Honor, and now runs a gym.
(Also Tough Enough 4: Interesting trivia. The runner up was Mike Mizanin who was of course the Miz. A young man by the name of Ryan Reeves competed, who you might know better as NXT Season 1 rookie Skip Sheffield. Also Marty Wright, better known as the Boogeyman, did not compete, because he lied about his age. Leading to the all time greatest quote, stating the WWE does not like liars.)
In that rambling post, I do hope that Tough Enough 5 is more successful. If you think about it, the Miz is the most successful superstar to come out of Tough Enough, followed by John Morrison. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yeah, the physical challenges suck. They should just keep it as realistic as possible. I don't really get the point of all that. They should just make another challenge so the fans can also determine who is the better wrestler because those physical challenges just figures out a wrestler's fan appeal, which is only one aspect of the field. They should also include mat challenges, top rope diving challenges, running attacks challenges, etc.. just to make things clearer who is the better wrestler so that when it comes to wrestling itself, they won't be worrying about the wrestler's ability to move in the ring. Quite frankly, I didn't like Slater's wrestling style when he was just starting out. They should also include the wrestler's skills if it's not already.

Yeah I think that working on wrestling skills would be for the best. Given that when they get thrown out into the deep end on RAW or Smackdown, they can end up drowning. Then again, I'm thinking that when Tough Enough returns, it might focus on the more physical end of wrestling, while NXT, should it still be around(although doing both NXT and Tough Enough might be overdoing it). I'm not really sure what catching slingshotted t-shirts has to do with anything in wrestling but what do I know. I'm not making five figures a year to write this show. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
