When is coming Fibre Optic installed Internet in India ???

Do anyone have heard of fiber Optic cable. I mean just, i was wondering if i could get some information about the internet service that uses Fiber Optic communication technique. Currently i am living in Pune and i am so eager to own such type of Internet connection. I had just heard that Airtel has been planted a Fiber Optic Cable from India to somewhere, but, i am not that sure. So please if anyone has Details about that can provide month of launching internet connection of Fiber Optic then please let me know. Thank You, Kp lotting !!! Enjoy...

Here in the States, Verizon and AT&T use fiber optic technology. You can do a search on FIOS (Verizon) and/or U-verse (AT&T) if you're just looking for more insight on how it works and what kind of internet connection (and TV and phone) are possible.
