How do you keep track of your earnings here.. and if you happen to respond to those who have responded to your post after a few days will it still earn a few cents. and one more thing, will it earn higher if you respond immediately.. how about when you get to reply only after a few days..

Hi Sammy! You left a comment on one of my topics and I would like to answer you but I am uncertain whether you will go back there so I will leave you a comment here. You said: "I cannot understand a bit what is being talked about here .. Maybe somebody could just explain what is rating all about and how to do it.. I do not know either if I am rated by whom.. What I know is that I have red colored number nine beside my name and up to now it has not changed after posting a lot of discussions.. So if you do not earn from responses you get from your topic then we might as well just respond to any topic here and will not post discussions anymore..." The rating system is explained by myLot here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx#1 Other users rate our activity. The more plusses that you receive then the higher your star will be. A blue 10 star is the highest. It affects our earnings too, as you can see if you read that link. We earn for discussing. If you respond on a discussion and the original poster comes back and comments to you, then you can go back and respond to them again and get a discussion going. You will see what happens to your earnings when you do that. The same situation is for your own started discussions. Only if you comment back to the responses will you see your earnings increase because we do NOT earn for what others type, they do

The number inside the star is a percentage. When a red star gets enough plusses to push it up to 95.51/100 it will turn blue. When a yellow star gets enough plusses to push it to 85.51/100 it will turn red and the other colours follow this pattern too. The number of posts does not decide the colour of a user's star. It is the quality of those posts and the ratings that other Lotters have given them that decide it

Thanks Diana for giving me very important guidelines on how to do it properly and the need to rate someone's post. but could you also explain to me what is red and what is blue color for the number beside the posters name..Because I have observed that I have a higher red number compared to others despite the fact that i only have few posts compared to them

I think the list of your earnings are updated after a day or two. I don't keep track of how much I earn per response or discussion but have a pretty good idea how much I could at least earn for a day. Sometimes, my calculations are pretty precise. I have learned in one of the previous discussions I've read here at mylot that for every response you make, you get $0.01 or something like that. With regards to your discussions, I'm not sure how much it earns for every response you get.

MyLot does not pay a fixed rate for anything. It is not a paid-to-post site. We earn for our quality participation in discussions. There is no difference whether we post on new, recent or ancient topics. What is important is that our participationis relative to the topic and informative, adding more to the topic itself.
