Now on....now off!

I just realized that notify is turned off for most of my friends!! I'm not sure if I did it myself when I wasn't able to mylot on a regular basis. But today morning, as I was browsing through the 'Discussions', I wondered why I wasn't notified of the discussions started by some of my old friends on here. I thought they probably took me off their list since I wasn't regular here (yes, I know some people do that and I don't mind). I then went to add them again and realized that they are still on my list!
So, CONFUSED ME went to check on that and realized that the Notify was turned off!!
Silly me!!
To turn this into a discussion, have any of you done that? Or are you diligent and make sure your notify is turned on?
Now turning notify on is a pain because I need to do it one at a time :( and the page needs to refresh each time.
Mylot needs to get a select button so that I can do batches at a time.
Yoo Hooo...mylot...do you hear me??
Anyone else rooting for a 'Select' button..so that we may select multiple members to turn notify on or off as the case may be?

I've had that happen to me one time but mylot straightened it out some how. I kept seeing some discussions that didn't make it to my inbox and wondered why and lo and behold! The notify was off. Now I KNOW I didn't turn it off! But when I turned it back on, it would turn itself back off. I notified mylot about it and they fixed it for me. Yeah, we do need a muliple button for that.

Personally it would be nice if there was an easier way to turn on or off the notify's in your friends discussions for sure. That is one thing personally that I think would benefit here. But then there are a lot of times I am way too busy to keep up with the New discussions as they come in so letting me know someone started a New discussion is a major plus for sure.

It used to happen to me a while ago before MyLot did some ‘renovations’ LOL! Back then whenever you added someone to your friends list you had to manually ‘turn them on’ (so to speak) and of course silly me would often forget to do so and later would wonder why there had been no notifications from said members. At least now each new addition is automatically turned on to send notifications which is great although I do agree that if I wanted to turn them all off for a time it would take ages so a feature that would allow several to be done at once would be great. You can only suggest it to admin I guess and wait and see what happens...

Oh yes! Earlier, it would be automatically off till you went and turned it on. And now it's the other way. It was irritating at first till I got used to accepting a request and turning it on immediately. But I'm sure there are others who might be irritated with it being automatically on.

There may have been some kind of a glitch. In the five years I have been here that has happened to me twice. It would be nice to have things go more efficiently.

I would love to have that feature here. But, I think you better contact Mylot Admin for that suggestion than making it a discussion. Many are annoyed with the notification on because we are flooded with emails on our inbox. Same with me because I don't actually read those who started discussions rather I check them here in my page. I am more into the response or comments notification so that I can reply to them even when I am not here in my page. I can detect who have responded to my discussion or who commented to my response.

Hi Viswan,
totally agree with you ! a 'Select Multiple' Button would very, very, very welcomed.
i do most of my 'myLot'-ing at work.. (hush... ok
)
so usually before the weekend or looonggg holidays... i need to turn OFF the notifications - so that, my mailbox will not be jammed.
and when i come to work i have to turn the notification ON again.. and I DONT ENJOY doing it one at a time.... and because of that - so i missed to turn on a few friends...
.
so.. if the myLot ADMIN is taking notice - by all means - do introduce the 'Select' button...

Yes!! It would be a big help to me too.
As pointed out by two other people, I better notify admin of this suggestion.
I wasn't aware we could give suggestions to mylot directly. In between and Alice came into the picture to take our suggestions. I thought we contacted admin only with problem issues.

I only really leave notification on for people whom post alot & I really enjoy their posts. Or for someone who doesn't not post alot but I look forward to when they do post.

I keep my notify turned off with the exception of a very few people on here. I do forget to turn it off when I get new friends and it takes tons of emails in my inbox to realize that I need to go turn them off. I was thinking about posing the question to fellow myLotters today about whether or not they had their notifier turned on or off. You saved me the time.

Hello my friend welcome back again, as I believe you know the existing guidelines and rules here whe your not active and now active again - which is same no changes. Some other mylotters suggested to contact mylot admin about your suggestion, it is better and good, so go on for that. However, such notifying I think depends on the person here in mylot because some are not want to clutter more notification in their email, so better as our account once in a while to check it out... see you around

Oh yes, I guess I better let the mylot admin know about this.
I turned the notify off myself because I didn't want my inbox flooded when I wasn't active in here. And I forgot all about it!!
But what I want now is an option where we can turn notify on or off for multiple users together.
Thanks for the welcome and the comment :)

yes...I have found it in a discussion earlier they there is some fixed time when you are not getting any notification ....I don't know the reason but I guess,in that time my lot team remain busy in deleting some rule violating discussion.
