Need help with an HP OfficeJet All In One printer/fax machine

I have an HP 6210 All in One printer. It is not connected to my computer. It is only for faxing and copying, occassionally on both. I get the error message saying "check and replace right cartridge". I figure that means the black one as it is on the right. I replace it and still...get that same message and it won't let me do anything in Setup to align or clean. At one of the times in working with it..it did print a test page and it printed fine...but then went right to that error message again. I have tried to contact HP but as you probably know in this kind of thing...they not only take their time responding, but probably wont. I used only HP cartridges..This new one is the first remanufactured HP cart I have ever used. Previously I bought the HP, but they are just to expense so I am trying the reman. I have tried everything I can think of...even read the manual but they don't address this particular error issue. So I come to the experts...anyone know what is needed to be done to fix this error so that my printer/fax will work? I had someone fax something to me and it said it was receiving and then done....but then blinked right back to this error message. Thanks for any help.

If you're using a remanufactured or refilled HP cartridge, that may very well be the problem. HP won't help you with that because they don't recommend that you use anything but new HP ink cartridges. Still... I did find this that might help. Thanks, I'll check it out. It was doing this with a new HP cartridge. I thought it just meant that it was empty so that is why I got another one. PLus, it will print out a test page with the old cartridge (original HP) but won't print a fax when it comes in.

Have you tried their online help? Sometimes you can find what you need there. I think the page I gave you mentions that you might need to update the drivers. That might help, too.

That was my first place for help. But of course...this specific error message isn't listed in their help search. I tried a brand new cartridge, cleaned everything they say and still get 'check right cartridge". I don't know what else to do
