Seems like a silly question to me, however, this is very real

China is teaming up with a California company to supply helicopters and jets.
I know we are all trying to get along, but do you really think this is a good idea?

Why not? They own us don't they? Their labor is one tenth ours. They steal patents instead of waiting for them to run out so they have awsome technology at their fingertips. The US is know for giving away patents anyway. I imagine this will eventually happen.
Do I agree with it...Hell No! You never give anything away! Look at Egypt. We just sent them a ton of military weaponry and aircraft. They will now be under islamic control in the very near future...maybe by saturday. They are now armed to the teeth thanks to us. Sweet.
Never give anything away! You cannot trust anyone!

laglen,
Why the fuss?
No offense, I mean it is just helicopters and jets which is already quite obsolete with the current demands of tech warfare.
Besides, if memory serves me well, I think China has already come up with their own stealth jet and the contract is just helping US have a more economical replacement of their aged Marine jets.
I am sure with the money saved, America could have more money to help her people with recovery from these challenging times.

It's a terrible idea. We can't even get China to stop poisoning our children with toxic paints and chemicals in their toys. China owns us, sadly.

Well, now you know why the small California company is unprofitable...they make stupid decisions. There's no way in h*ll I'd award a defense contract to China...nothing like giving away the farm. I'm p*ssed that their latest weaponry looks like it rolled out of Boeing. Stealing our technologies is bad enough, but handing it over to them? You gotta be kidding! I would go so far as saying all defense procurement contracts need to be awarded to U.S. companies and made in the U.S. We've given away too much of our manufacturing base already. It's time to bring it home.
