Do you use these on your discussions?
What have you used them for?
I have used them a little to show that I think they are good comments or bad ones... But recently have dedicated myself to responding to all the comments on my discussions. Thinking o fmaybe using the + and - whilst I am responding too...
What do you think? Rep Good? Or Bad?

Like most, I rarely use the negative rating.
I do use the positive rating all the time. It is not only for me to recognize good comments or discussions, but it also helps me out in resolving 'unresolved discussions'. It takes me a few months to go back to my discussions and award a 'best response'. But when it is time, I just use the positive rating to sift through the responses and identify the good ones. It is easier to pick from these which to give the BR, instead of re-reading all the responses.

Yeah,I used them always whenever I make post in discussion and comments..+ and - are for positive and negative rating..where ! icon is used to report the post or discussion..if you like the discussion or find useful post do rate them positive as they will increase your star rating and earning.

Thank-you for your input...
I do believe this also.. I have found that when someone doesn't put much effort into their responce, I do tell them this and to try again.. Sometimes just putting'Yes, I agree with you' or 'I don't think you are right' is the right responce for anything really... How about elaberating of don't post anything! Bit of a waste of time and effort on your part for something that won't give as much input as others who deserve to gain the cash for their responces.

You should hardly ever need to use the [-] rating. It should be reserved for discussions or responses which are not useful, and which you feel 'negatively impact the myLot community'. It should never be used for responses with which you, personally, disagree!
Use the [+] rating for those responses and comments which you think contribute well to the discussion (even though you may disagree with their views - after all, a discussion should be able to include all points of view!)
You may find it helpful to read what the FAQs have to say about rating: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx .
