What is the best thing to do?

Good day Fellow Mylotters, I was in the process of writing down some articles and synchronizing some data from my mobile when one of the folders on my computer does not respond. That, I am trying to close the folder window but I could not close it. The only thing I can do with the folder is to minimize the screen, other than that, I could not do anything. I dont want to log out from what I am doing but it seems that I should log out. And due to the not responding, though my system did not get hang, I cannot open another folder. I am really annoyed, but what to do with this - is there any proper way on how to handle various folder being open on the computer?
