Paperwork taken to courthouse, had a 3 second cry, bought myself some candy, and went home. So unless I mucked something up, it's all up to a judge now. So much for the easy part, now I have to do the hard stuff. Anybody want some Bit o' Honey?

I can't find your discussion about the court case. Yeah, it scares me too. The way I've done all the paperwork there shouldn't need to be a hearing though. Should be all by mail.

Dont want to mis-direct anyone, but Courts!,the Law! scare you?, well checkout my discussion about my court case, especially when the man they had on CCTV doing the crime, was another male, not me. Divorce isnt much fun either, i got divorced back in 1993, i takes a long time to get over it, with kids, it gets even longer!, hugs from every1 !!

Keep in the present, don't let words like, I could have, should have, if only, and all those other words the represent the past invade your new life. Blessings to you all. That includes R, he faces an uncertian future also.

Two things I liked about your post: One, is that you only had 3 seconds to cry, which means all the crying must have already been done in the recent past. Two, is that candy was the remedy for the 'crying'. Whatever the age, candy always make people happy. Anyway, goodluck on the rough road ahead dawn!

Actually I haven't cried much. I have found that I can stop it by yawning, so I seldom cry.

Congrats! I'm hoping everything goes well with the judge. It's going to be hard, but in the long run, I think it'll all turn out fine. How long do you think it will be, assuming all the paperwork is okay? Did they give you an estimate? Weeks?

You did it! You are on your way! Take each step as it comes. I'm so proud of you.I feel like I missed a few steps. How did you get him to sign? Am I prying?

He came at me and said "I have a few concerns before I sign." and I thought , "oh gawd I'm going to have to revise it again." And I said to him, "let me know your concerns, so I can fix the document." Well he just said he had questions. And turns out his questions weren't directly related to the document. He wanted to know why it was necessary to take each others names off the car titles, and what I was going to do with my half of the brokerage money, and stuff like that. Then we both signed. Later I found I needed it notarized, so I dragged him to a notary. He wasn't happy about it, but he signed.

You know that we are all here for you as you need the love and support that we can offer to you. The thing is that he knows what is coming so it won't be as bad as it could be if it was something that was totally blindsiding someone. Do you have any idea at all of how long it is going to be before it hits the judge and he or she is going to make their decision on the situation? ((Hugs))

Hi Dawn! Sorry I haven't been around . . . I just got back online last night - we finally moved - and then there were problems getting internet connection. Came to myLot just now and specifically searched for you first thing. Awww - hugs to you, Dawn - big hugs. I'll have to look at past discussions - but I assume he finally signed the darn thing? Take a deep breath - now you can move on. I would love some Bit o Honey - I haven't had that in years!!!!
