Hi everyone!
I got a call from my doctor's office today telling me that I have an appointment on Tuesday for running tests (labs, CT, chest x-ray, EKG) to see if I qualify for a clinical trial to deal with my recurrence of ovarian cancer. Either way, I will be getting the same chemo drugs that I had the first time around (in 2003), but I might get put on a third drug depending on whether I qualify or get assigned to that group. I am a little worried about that because I really don't know how it is going to be paid for. I am waiting to hear if I will be approved for medicaid. I just wish it was already this time next week so that this would all be over with!

I do hope it works out well for you, as the wait time can be so horrible. If they do not pay for it can you ask if the trial can be subsidized by the pharmaceutical company.
You may want to research that as a clinical trial should be at no cost to you as, the results will be beneficial to them. I have always thought it worked out that way.
Best of luck and do hope that you fill in the wait time with some busy time as it can be horrid to wait for the date.

daeckardt, it is certainly worth a try and if they will not pay for it maybe search the net a bit and see if you can come up with a company that will donate the fees. I do wish you well with this and hope it is a success.

If you qualify for a clinical trial, all your expenses are paid for and your doctor appointments. Some of them even pay a stipend, or reimburse for transportation. It could be a very good thing.

I hope you are right. The paper they gave me said that they didn't. I will have to look at it again a little closer.

Hopefully it gets paid for.It is just sad how medical situations are. I know how you must be feeling with everything that is on your mind.I will keep you in my prayers for everything to turn out for you. Try not to worry about it which is easier said then done, I know but worrying bout things. It isn't good for anyone's health to worry and I have a saying if there isn't nothing you can do about something worrying isn't going to change it all it is going to do is make you sick.I know no one can be worry free all the time but try your best. Have a good week and good luck on your appointment.

Even if it doesn't get paid for, I'm not going to worry about it. I got the bill from the hospital yesterday and looked at it, acknowledged it, then set it aside. That's what happens to all bills I have gotten over the last several years. I don't worry too much, just hope that the medicaid gets approve pretty soon. Thanks for responding!

That's what we get all the time is lots of hospital bills for when my husband had his heart surgery. We just lay them down too. We don't got the money to pay for it. We try not to think about it but then another one comes and it is a little upsetting with the phone calls of getting bugged and the bills in the mail when they expect you to be a magician and come up with money that you don't have.
