Robbing of books is no crime at all. How many times have you robbed a book from a library; at school or college or at the local club?

I will politely agree to disagree with you on this one. The reason that I say that is because it is never right to steal something from another person. This does include taking a book from the library with no intention of returning it. For this reason, I am being completely honest in saying that I've never stolen a book from a library, school or anything else. I've been given books that were otherwise going to be discarded, but I've never stolen one.

I like books very much. I usually went to the library when I was a student. But I have never robbing of books. I don't think it's good. You read books. Other people want to read books too. Robbing of books is not crime but we shouldn't do that. We need think about other people.

didi i don't agree with you. Theft is theft even if it of books. Library is a place where all the people are going to read books in public domain. Stealing books from there is a loss for general public.

Never robbed a book, but I am not surprised why most of the libraries here in our country do not have a complete collection of books. And most of the time what you are looking for isnt available or they don't have it at all. I am not really sure if it is not a crime or it is, but what I know is that e.g. schools demand them to be brought back or be paid if you lost them. And there are levels of punishment for grave offenders.

robbing of book is a crime because you are stealing a book for which someone paid money, but robbing of knowledge it not a crime because knowledge is always free so rob knowledge as much as you can but not books :)

I completely disagree. When someone borrows a book from me I always tell them they can take their time with the book, but that if they do not return it they are a thief and thieves go to hell.

Hi Doctordidi, I beg to differ! I do not think that stealing books can be considered as not a crime. It indeed is a crime. Because when I was in Engineering college, someone stole one of my costliest textbook. I was really devastated, because our financial condition wasn't very robust that time and even my younger brother was doing his engineering. Of course, I have never stolen any books, and after my experience I will probably never do it.

I have never stolen a book from a library. When I was in second grade we moved from one town to another and found a library book that I had borrowed two years previously. We drove back to the town and returned it.

I can't agree. If a book is in a library collection and you steal it then you are depriving someone else of the opportunity of reading and making use of it.

I don't think just because a crime is done often or by everybody makes it not a crime anymore. A crime is a crime no matter what, it's just individual peoples conscience that becomes callus from doing it often. I never stole any book at anytime in my life friend.
