How do a blog page earn?

Hello guys!!.. i just want to make some clarifications about on blogs and webpages....
exactly how do they earn??...is it possible that a webpage could earn even when nobody clicks anything on it???.....nor view it more than 10 secs???..

You can earn money through it lets say you have atleast 1 million pageviews per month or somewhere close to 100 thousand unique visitors per month.
but just imagine if your page is not viewed more than 10 secs than how come a visitor would ever visit your page again.
I am in a process of writing down all the ways to make money online on my blog.
lets see how long it takes me to complete it.
