Out of all the union political action committees out there, the PAC that ties them all together is the Democratic Party.

Wrong, wrong, wrong!! Union PACs are funded solely by "voluntary contributions" from members! Not All union members contribute to their own union's PACs! Some union members are registered republicans, libertarians, etc., etc. It is a right-wing canard that public employee Unions are funded by taxpayers!! Public sector workers are employed by the government, but they are private citizens. Once a private citizen earns a dollar from the sweat of his/her brow, it NO LONGER belongs to his/her employer ... in the case of public workers, it is no longer a "taxpayer dollar" .. period!

I know that the Koch brothers have just as much right to make donations to their causes as Bill Gates and Warren Buffett.

Why would any union return money to a member who has paid it for representation ... that's the retainer! ParaTed, exactly what do you know about Koch Industries?

So, why isn't it illegal for unions to be involved in politics?

Don't worry, it soon will be with crooks on the Supreme Court like the Koch brothers' buddies Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia! Annie

Yeah, because only lefties have the right to donate money, and only to left wing causes. There is only one incompetent Supreme Court Justice, and that is that anti Constitution wench Ruth Buzzie Ginsberg (spit).

And that is why it should be illegal, NO human judge is above reproach. Not those on the left, nor those on the right. Anyone is capable of being tempted to take money to change his mind on something. I've always felt that lobbying should be illegal. And before you jump down my throat about the Constitutional right to petition the government for redress of grievances, take a look at this link: http://www.chiff.com/society/lobby.htm No private citizen can afford to approach Congress with his grievances. Lobbying has become a matter of who has the most money to bribe their Congressman to get favor. We have developed a new 'nobility' here, the corporations being viewed as 'individuals' by government. So, what's your take on this website?

you have it all wrong. The evil ones are the greedy businessmen and corporations that donate money to politicians. Those evil Koch Brothers (who support many Conservative candidates) gave Gov Walker $43,000. The Union PAC support only politician who will act in the Unions best interest. Like politicians who will leave the state when told to do so. There are some reports that the public sector Unions have given a measly $1.1 million dollars to Democratic Candidates. WEAC Record is almost perfect in support of Democratic Candidates. Forget about the millions spent by the Public Unions in campaign donations, the Army of Lobbyist and the mandatory donations from Union Members that the State collects for the Unions from the workers. Of course you can make a written request for the money to be returned if you do it in a timely manner. http://www.weac.org/utcc/pac.html
