Did any one ever seen an instance where an exaggeration was more believed than the actual proportions?
I have rudely wrote to my mom that I have the worst life in the world and she right away believed it whilst when I keep things the way they are and is very honest, it's not considered true. Any other example of these? :D

I am always a victim of this kind. I hate it especially when there is no truth to it. Just recently, my father called me up and even sent me a message about something. He was like scolding me and telling me about some stuff. I knew who made the story and I was like upset and sort of angry too. Yes, someone made up a story and it was an exaggeration and worse, there is no truth to it.

A different kind of exaggeration has taken place today. I raised my voice to the vendor (in a respectful way since I am slightly deaf) only to find later when I got back home that the change is too much. A tooth for a tooth and an exaggeration for an exaggeration?

Yeah, that's true. People tend to cling more to the hearsays and they tend to exaggerate even the smallest piece of news that they hear. My example would be the news nowadays, even the most non-significant news is on air and of course exaggerated!
