The simple pleasures in life

Today my friend had off work they are between jobs. I was supposed to go to his house today to hang out with him and my sister was going to watch my son for a few hours while my daughter was in school. I felt bad leaving him to go hang out with my friend though so I was kind of almost glad when it didnt go through. My son and I went to the store together and took a nap together.
It only sucks because my friends phone broke so I havent heard from him all day and we always text back and forth all day long so now I'm lonely.
Before putting my kids to bed tonight I put fresh bed sheets on my bed. That was pretty much the highlight of my night knowing that I could go to bed and lay against nice clean sheets.
Have you had a simple pleasure lately? Tell me about it! Just something that is very simple but really made your day or made you feel better.

Hi shaggin,
Yes I enjoy simple pleasures in life. I work part-time, I go to school part-time and I have a two year old daugther. So anytime I can take a simple breather and sit for ten minutes it is always a simple pleasure for me, lol.. I do enjoy quiet times with my daughter also, but some days I simply need the few extra minutes for me, just to re-charge and be able to gather my thoughts.

I know the feeling. For the time being I'm a stay at home mom so until the kids go to bed I dont really get time for myself. But they go to bed at 7:30 so I dont complain. Right now I'm online doing things for money while my son is being good playing with his cars in a bucket of beans and rice and sea shells.

We were able to get a Y membership yesterdy, and although the day is cold, rainy and gloomy, we sat in the sauna and hot tub. I also started my paraffin bath for my hands I have not used it in over a year. It made my hands feel soft and smell really good as well. I made a good meal last night and that was great.

In art class once they had a parafin wax dip thing for your hands it was neat. I never tried it though. My sister and I bought my parents a Y membership a few months back and they still have not taken the money and gone. I thought it would be awesome because my mother loves to swim but cant in the winter so if she went to the Y with a two month free membership I thought that was a great gift. They are the hardest people to buy gifts for.

Sometimes it is hard to make yourself get into a routine of going to the Y, but it is great, especially in winter. The paraffin dip is what I am talking about. I bought it when I was having some really severe pain and tingling in my hands, so bad that it would wake me up at night. It has scented wax and the first time I ever used it I fell asleep immediately before the wax even cooled. I am cleaning and rearranging in my house and got it out to use. It is better than any kind of lotion for softening hands.

As you may already know, my job takes me travelling to different suppliers. Most of these suppliers are at different cities where I have to stay overnight. Although the work is tedious, the best part of my day when travelling is when I check in to the hotel, and see the clean, neatly pressed sheets on my bed. Sometimes I just flop on to the bed without even changing!

HAHA so then you know exactly how I felt at the end of a crappy day to have a nice clean set of sheets to lay in. I actually love sleeping in hotels as well they give you fresh sheets every day how awesome is that. Traveling to different cities would be nice to I havent traveled much at all but I love seeing new places.

Thats a great response. Sometimes food can be the simplest pleasure for us. Eating something we love or that we havent had in along time can totally make our day. I dont go to subway often but when I do I'm in heaven. I get a footlong veggie patty. I crave them all the time but rarely eat when I am out because buying food costs more then to just eat when I get home. What is a scramble I've never heard of that kind of food?

It's a crushed bits of ice in a small disposable glass with flavors of your choice. It's sold for a cheap price.

Gosh that sounds amazing. All day I intend to do that. I think how nice it will be to soak in a nice hot bath and relax and read a book. But then when my kids are in bed at night and I can actually get in a bath and relax I just am tired and want to get a quick shower and go to bed.

Aww what a sweet response. When my children smile at me or tell me they love me or give me hugs & kisses it just melts my heart. I know how you feel. I feel so lucky that I was blessed with two wonderful children. They are the best thing that ever happened to me.

Lately since our move, i have been tasting simple pleasures in life, like being able to come home, be able to rest without my parents nagging over..lol being able to come home quiet and clean and be able to sleep if i want to... and be able to play with my kids without worrying that there are chores still undone.
