During the last few years, I have written quite a few articles chronicling the abuses of Democrat Gov. Doyle (usually referred to me as "King Doyle") and him and his Democrat Majority in the State Senate and Assembly. They ran some budgets through the whole government in 48 hours. No amendments, no public discussion, no committee or floor discussion.. just votes. He single handedly handed the Pottawatomie Tribe exclusive rights to gambling, with little fees on them. He blocked several attempts by private companies to set up legal gambling sites in Wisconsin, because he was bought and paid for by the tribes. They passed a law requiring double taxation from any corporation stupid enough to keep their headquarters here in Wisconsin. Under that law, if a corporation had their headquarters here, and any facilities in any other state, they "owed" taxes to Wisconsin for the money made in each state. This lead to an exodus of major corporations headquarters, the buyout of others. It got so bad that cities started offering the companies local tax breaks to offset the losses, lest the jobs move to another state. Gov. Doyle had what was called the "Frankenstein Veto". This is a sort of "line item veto" that doesn't stop and just "crossing out" a line or paragraph. He got to cross out single words like "not", or even cross out numbers and write in whatever amount he felt like. He finally lost that with a constitutional amendment. When he crossed out the numbers in the budget and added hundreds of millions to his favorite departments, even most Democrats turned on him, and stripped him of it. Btw, those hundreds of millions didn't exist, so they had to be "found" somewhere else (which is one of the reasons we have those billions of dollar debt). Where were all the complaints from the left when thousands of union paper mill employees were laid off because of the laws imposed on the companies.. making them close their doors. Where, oh Where was the left? Oh, yeah, they were applauding the abuses!!
