Are you a tech head?

I am humbled by your skills, I would like to be conversant in many languages. I am surrounded by people that want to speak English. Chinese and its dialects would be a very interesting language set. What is your native language and what others do you have skills at? Thank you for your reply.

my native language is english because i grew up in the US, but i also learned dari (language of afghanistan) alongside english. i started taking french in middle school and subsequently went on to study it for 9 years after which i received a bachelor's degree in french language and literature, so i consider myself pretty fluent in french. i also lived in france for 7 months. additionally, i started learning pashto (another language of afghanistan...language of my ethnic group) when i was in middle school as well. when my aunt came to the US, she would speak pashto with my mom, so i ended up learning it that way. i am fluent in it now after several years, but i am very shy when speaking it because i havent had a lot of practice and im always afraid ill make a mistake. im currently living in the netherlands now so ive been picking up a lot of dutch. i can understand and read it quite well but my speaking abilities are quite limited. aside from that, i know a bit of urdu through bollywood movies, and i would love to learn arabic!

Ahh, what a wonderful journey you have been on and still are, you are fortunate that you have relatives that speak these languages. I would like to learn Gaelic, but I know no-one with whom I can speak.

There are many things I wish I also understood. I think that because my interests are in electronics, computer programming languages, minerals and geology, astonomy and meteoritics, etc I am a tech head. But I have little skills in many other disciplines of knowledge. I can only speak English and some German. I can not make clothes. I am limited in my cooking abilities (I love my frying pan). I can drive a forklift but not a truck. So much to know. Thanks for your reply.
