hi mylot friends, Venice was built in the year of 421 A.D, this floating city initially producing salt, after words it was changed as tourist place, in fourteenth century itself two lakhs (0.2 millions)of people living there, but environmental experts says that the existence of the Venice city is difficult by the year of 2100. Due to the floods in the year of 1966 , the water level was increased to one meter height in Venice city, from that time the population of the Venice city is decreasing, on that year the population of the city was 0.12 millions, now the population of the city is only sixty thousand, since last ten years 2000 to 2500 of people are leaving the Venice city, if it continues like this by the year of 2035 no person is available there , said by the experts. Floods on floods Venice was built on the creeks of land occupied by Adriatic sea water, 118 small islands were linked with 400 bridges, streets are canals and cars are boats in Venice, experts says this great city will remain as a museum in future days ,even several precautions taken by the Government, no body can control the nature and tourism, some 100 years back floods are hit the city ten times a year, now the floods hit the city 60 times a year, on that time the people remove the water entered in to the house with kitchen utensils, not only that 25 cms of walls of the constructions are dipping in the water regularly, employment opportunities in other cities also the reason for evacuation of the Venice city by the residents , the jobs facility in Venice city are limited to hotels and boats, there are lot of jobs opportunities in several fields are available in other cities according to their interest, this is also a reason that youth are migrating to other places, due to heavy competition of the big establishments the small shops could not compete and survive with them, so they are also closing their small shops, there is constant increase of tourists to Venice, now a days more than eighty thousand of people are visiting Venice daily, this is more than the present population of Venice city, small shops are replaced by costly boutiques , fast food centers and beauty parlors, though it is good for the business people, the common people cost of living is becoming burden to them Moss settlement To get out of this disaster, the Government is taking lot of precautions, to prevent floods attack ,they are constructing new apartments with height, there the cost of thousand square feet apartment is available at the rate of 10 million dollars approximately, the Govt has arranged the low cost apartments also for middle class people. To control floods and not to have waves attack to the Venice city ,the Government of Italy is spending more than fifty thousand millions of dollars for construction of “MossRubber dam”, actually the dam should be constructed by the end of this year, but it may take four more years to complete the dam, if the Venice is separated with sea ,there is no scope of dirties to go out side of the Venice city, the cause is delaying the construction of the “Moss dam” and some agencies are opposing this constructions also, due to the improvement of the tourism in Venice , scarcity of the buildings for the offices of cinema, education, medical and for other fields , to solve this problem , only way is to control the tourists to this Venice city, but the revenue from the tourists is important to the Government economy, so the Government is not interested to put a control on the tourists/visitors to the Venice city. Any how the residents are showing interest to leave the Venice city, so between 2030 to 2035 year , no residents are in the Venice city, after that the Venice city remains as a Museum ,said by the experts, not only that due to global warning by 2100 year the Venice city will be sink in the sea said by some people according to astrology

Everything you say is so true, and very sad. We visited Venice in 1997 and were amazed by its beauty. It is one of the tourism highlights, and will be difficult to stop the flow of tourists, even if the Government were completely committed to the idea. Hopefully the dam will be finished and can alleviate some of the problems.
