Any idea about e-banking?

e-banking has already been introduced in India. I have no idea about it. Is there anyone who can explain what e-banking is and how it works? Is it safe for an unaccustomed person like me? Is any special precautionary measure needed for it?

Outside of protecting your Id and password there are no problems to worry about with e-banking. I have been doing so for 11 years. I pay all my bills directly with my online baking. I also can scan any check with my cell-phone and have it directly deposited to my bank account. Never fall for any site even if it looks like you bank who sent you the request, to confirm the password. No trusted bank will ever ask you for your password, not even your own bank. I monitor all my accounts and make money transfers all the time with no problems.

@manjam a warm welcome to you to mylot! You are right, when I think back on how I use to manually make my bank transactions and on how E-banking is convenient now, I would not want to go back to the old ways.

It is electronic banking system where you can do almost everything that you do in normal banking except deposition real cash, this you need to go the bank and do it in person. Otherwise all other banking can be done now in the comfort of your home with a computer and internet connection.

In fact e-banking is very convenient because you can deal with your bank accounts online without going to the bank by yourself. I often deal with my bank accounts online because I hate waiting in the bank. I can withdraw the cash from the ATM. So today I seldom need to go to the bank. Usually the bank will give you a token and it works like a password. You can transfer money by it. It is easy to use. I love China

hi doctordidi I have been banking on the net for twenty odd years and since its a protected site with the tell tale lock and key my information is safe on my e bank account. I have never had any problem whatsoever and nor would you if you keep your password and ids safe. I love the ability to pay bills on line and purchase things using my debit card. it is super easy and a joy to use too.just remember a top bank will never sent you emails asking for your information, those emails are scams so if you get one supposedly from your bank report this email to your online bank and they will prosecute these phonies.

I have used e-banking for years and I love it. I like that I can log in to my account anytime, day or night to check my balance and to pay my bills. As you are new to the e-banking idea, the most important thing to remember is to never give out your information. You will want to make sure you keep it in a secure location at all times...not much different, I would imagine, from how you protect your information now. Oh, and if you have to check it in a public place, make sure to ALWAYS log out righ away.

Hi doctor didi, I use e-banking all the time, almost daily. It is very convenient. Most of the things that I need to visit the bank for, I can do them online. If I want to send money to my mom or anyone, I do it online, thereby, saving time and money to go to the branch. I check my account statement online, see my credit card balance, pay my credit card bills as well as utility bills....etc.etc. The only thing is...make sure that you don't share your user id and password to anyone. If you are sharing a computer, best to delete all cookies after you finish using the computer. Don't go to the bank's website from a link given to you on email. Type your bank's website on the address bar yourself to protect yourself from phishing.
