My daughter has recently started learning to read, so I got him a book on phonetics , she is supposed to learn A for apple and A for Alligator and she keeps forgetting the word alligator...I was amused to see her doing the picture reading by herself..A apple , A for crocodile, when I told her that's wrong she tells me it doesn't matter mommy , both are same, we can say either.

Hahaha! Your daughter is a witty one. It seems to me that she is having a great time in familiarizing the letter A. It's a good start though, for little ones to learn how to read independently. She'll become a great student someday. Be proud! She really got the wits!

She is a smart one when it comes to avoiding studies for sure...how she gets all the shortcuts , she actually made her brother write down the whole page while pretending to make mistakes and when I rubbed it all , she didn't do her alphabets work at night but next day on breakfast table she completed the same page in just five minutes flat, while I was putting her breakfast down her throat.

well she certainly have a point there. they are the same thing but i think alligator is a big word if you are just learning to read try giving her smaller words fun words for her and don't worry kids are always funny when they do something for the first time

Oh it was just in the book and I was not bothering anyway to make her read, when she had asked me its name I had told the correct one. I didn't expect her to remember that word anyways.
