Gold cost sky rocketing!!

In the time of my birth it was just 2000rupees(50dollars). But i don't know why the gold rates are crawling to sky like that...

hi professor, I rarely wear gold though i have few and i don't bother to know what is the price now i want to have a ruby since it is my birth stone actually i have one jaiho's mom gave it to me most of the time i wear ethnic accessories than silver or gold one have a nice day!

grrr just wiped out all my response. I hate that p rofessor I checked and for 1500 dollars and some cents you can buy 5 one ounce american Eagle gold pieces so gold has really gone up. when I was first married and young and foolish I sold my Black Hills gold jewelery for just peanuts. now those pieces are selling for 500 dollars a piece, I cannot believe how foolish I was.I should have kept it but at 30 I did not know what I know now. lol lol

The price of gold is rising in leaps and bounds. In 2006 when my daughter got married the price of gold per 10 grams was just 700-800. In just five years see the rise in the price of the yellow metal. Yes investing in gold is the best type of investment today. Happy mylotting.

The price of gold soared because people now think it is the best place to put their money, with the instability of most major economies and currencies, turmoil in the Middle East with the soaring prices of oil, disaster in Japan which is the third largest economy, people now think gold is the best bet, lucky for those who invested on gold a long time age, careful in buying gold now that it is high, because anything or any commodity that goes up up up is sure to go down sooner or later, the present situation is simply pulling the prices up.

The prices of gold went up everywhere, making it difficult for every one to buy even small quantities. The main reason for this price rise is the uncertainty in the financial system. when currencies lose value due to unstable financial system or problems in the banking system or when inflation rises faster than expected, most assets lose their value. but gold is one commodity that acts as a safe deposit of value. precisely these above reasons contributed to the price rise in gold for the last 4-5 years. Gold is an essential item in all Indian marriages, more so in Hindu marriages. Now a days others too have started buying gold. Now a days gold jewellery has become a fashion statement amongst the younger generation. gold consumption has gone up considerably and that also contributes to the stability of prices at higher level even during off seasons. I dont see any climb down in prices unless the financial system finds some stability and certainty. also high level of speculation keeps the prices at higher levels.

Hi professor, Gold indeed is getting more expensive each day. I know that gold is a very important for all Hindu marriages. When i got married, gold was equally expensive. I got tons and tons of gold as gift from my family and friends. I am fond of gold but not that much. So, i modified jewellery i received into designs i like and i still have a lot of gold that i want to get rid of. It is a good occasion to sell gold but since i received it as a gift i don't want to sell it! Here in Australia, gold is not that expensive but the carats are very low. I prefer diamond to gold. I wear my marriage ring combined with my engagement ring which is white gold and diamonds.
