As many of you know, I live in Northern Georgia near the corner where South Carolina, North Carolina & Georgia meet. As I'm sure you have seen today, the Southeast was dayum near wiped out last night!!! The Midwest has this problem frequently, but it is a very rare occurrence in the Southeast. As the supercell formed & 170 tornadoes headed straight for where I live, the hand of God reached down to protect me & my home. The tornadoes that were working their way toward my hometown suddenly veered 55-60 miles north of here. My heart is breaking for the over 200 people who lost their lives last night, but I am soooo thankful that I was spared from the misery that others are experiencing today!!! I have said many prayers of thanks today & been counting my MANY blessings!!! I've also said prayers to ease the pain of those who lost everything last night. So, now to my question...whether or not you believe in God, what has made you feel blessed lately???

hello Lady! I'm glad that you're okay! I have blessed so many times over the years by God. One thing that make me feel blessed lately is meeting people here in myLot that helped me learn a lot. They're so friendly here and intelligent. Another thing is that I was blessed to get into the hospital that I wanted to work in. It will help me a lot to gain experience in managing patient's problems. In short, I'm just blessed to work. Have a good day! :)

YES! I've only been here for 2 weeks and I feel like I can't spend a day without logging in here. I feel it's the only place where my opinions matter. And it's really good to hear the opinions of others without violent dis agreement!haha And thank you! Though it is sad that many people are out of work, I don't believe there is no hope. In my country there are plenty of unemployed people here, but that is mainly because of laziness! I believe you can find work with persistence and open-mindedness. I didn't even think I'd like to work in the hospital, but now I'm happy. It makes one feel useful. :)

I have made it a habit to thank God for all the little things that He blesses me with. My food at every meal, the shaft of sunlight on a cloudy day, the rain that refreshes the grass that I hate to mow, the kiss from my dog. Calls from my sons, laughter, a hello from a neighbor, all those things are blessings that make my life worth living. People tend to ignore the little things but those little things are about all I have left and I'm so grateful for them! I'll be moving in a few year, back to where my sons live--a place I hate but I miss them so much. My life will be better then, more fulfilling, but I hope that I still appreciate the little things that make life worth living.

A bunch of little blessings is what creates a HUGE blessing!!! With the way things are going this day & time, it is soooo easy to forget the little blessings!!! I don't see you as one of those people who ever forgets the little blessings!!! You will find a LOT MORE of those little blessings when you're back with your boys!!!! It seems strange to me now, but the morning all these storms started you had started a discussion on what preparations you have done to make sure you're prepared for such an event. You asked how the rest of us prepared for this kind of a tragic event. I remember thinking, I pray & thank God I have a friend who is soooo prepared & my next thought was...I'm coming to your house!!! Never did I once think that I wouldn't be able to get there!!! So, now I'm blessed to have friends who share their thoughts, their fears & their solutions; so their thoughts become my thoughts & hopefully I'll be BETTER prepared next time!!! Think this was possibly a wake-up call???

Hi, LadyM....We were in some of the tornado warning areas but are further north than the major outbreak. We had a lot of wind, rain, hail and lightening. I was concerned that the hail would impact my car but it didn't get too bad here. My concern for the car was nothing in comparison to what the southern folks sustained. The tornado season really doesn't get into full swing until May so I am concerned what may be coming down the pike for all of us in these areas. I feel blessed every day that I wake up and am still breathing. Life is so iffy that we need to live each minute as if it may be the last. As I've aged I look back over my earlier days and wonder how in the world I got out of some of the situations that I had put myself into. Only by the grace of God have I made it. Guess we can see that more clearly as we get older.

I pray NONE of them ever make it over your way!!! Any time I asked my Granddad how he was doing, he'd reply, I woke up on the right side of the dirt this morning., I'm doing GREAT!!! I guess his attitude has rubbed off on me....or, as you said...maybe we become wiser with age...& at our age, we've got wisdom oozing out of our ears!!!!

Omg LadyM! I didn't realize that you were so close to all that horror! I am so thankful that you and your home are ok. I have relatives in Georgia (my mother's brother that we don't speak to) but I didn't realize how well spread the devastation was. I don't understand how those crazy tornados work or how God works, but I am very thankful that my "special friend" is ok! And I will find out soon how God feels about me because I have some very serious symptoms of a very serious disease and am very scared. I am waiting until this lousy State of NY gives me my Medicare Insurance (which they are making me pay for) on May 1st so I can get the help I need. So please pray for me because I am afraid the State has made me wait for the proper care too long! It's a long story, but I am in pain and very frightened. God had better bless me bigtime!

Oh Leslie, I didn't know you were having so much trouble. I would hate to have to depend on the state of New York to help take care of me!!! I've heard so many horror stories about how horrible they are. I will add you to my prayers & maybe you will be my next blessing!!! Please keep me informed with what is happening with you. I do NOT want to lose a dear friend!!!!

Good to know you were spared. We had fierce winds here in southern Ontario all day yesterday, too. Up to 90mph. Lots of trees down, some roofs blown off, tractor-trailer trucks toppled over, but nothing like down there, thank goodness.

Now that it is all over & they are showing what really happened, I'm feeling triple blessed!!! Had it been daytime, I could have stood on my back porch & watched the tornadoes heading straight for my home & the for whatever reason one turned ever so slightly north & a couple of the others pulled up off the ground & didn't touch down again until they had passed over my home. I couldn't ask for anything better!!!! I'm just glad they didn't jump from here into your area!!!!

Hi there LadyM! Blessed are those who fear the Lord and walked in His ways! The very thing that the tornado evaded your house means only one thing; that you have been a good Christian lately! Keep praying, keep sharing and keep loving; thru this you are able to share the blessing that God has bestowed on you. You are right in saying that we have to pray for those who are in misery today, as our hearts should be with them in this time of testing. GOD bless you and your family! Keep the faith always!

I am far from the perfect Christian, but I do feel blessed by my Maker!!! I am sure there were many a good Christian affected by these storms!!! Maybe God knew they were more emotionally prepared to deal with so much devastation!!! Regardless as to why I was spared, I feel truly thankful & totally blessed!!!!
