Oil deregulation is a system were in the government pays for a part of the oil the public consumes to lower down the cost for the public but this is a temporary solution that the Phil Gov't is giving to it’s public.
Since the fund for this movement could only last for a month and after that period people will be tremendously shocked of the high cost of the petroleum products.
So what I'm thinking is that the best way to do it is to try to lower the tax on petrol products for the moment just to relieve the tension on the paying public and also not to totally loose our earnings from the tax that our Gov't earns from Petrol products
What do you think about this guys?

Having higher tax is not a bad thing after all. It allows the government to have more reserves in times of crisis. Those reserves would come in handy, if the government is a good one, not like those corrupted ones. If government were to lower the tax on all petrol products, why not get people to travel on public transport instead? That saves money without having to drive.

Subsisizing the cost of the oil for public will bring short term relief, but it actually adds up to the problem of the government in terms of dwindling funds in an already depleted treasury, and in the long term it wont help much to curb the skyrocketing costs of oil which I think should not be all blamed to the world market but to the unscrupulous way some oil companies take greater profit without regards to the economic dilemma of the majority.
PNoy's government should start investing on alternative sources of energy right now. Solar energy, wind energy and other forms of clean source of energy may require a lot of investment, but its positive long-term effect will be phenomenal and may be one of the key for the country to be energy-reliant, cut costs of electricity for every Filipino household, lower business costs, help protect our natural environments and overall improve our economy. PNoy can use his policy of partnering with businesses to fund these ambitious projects, as well as seek help from friendly countries like USA and Japan. This is one of the achievements that could define PNoy's administration and he should start working to achieve these now for the sake of Filipinos who believed in his dream of a straight road to progress.

Well deregulating it alone is really not the best way because the government need to have money to cut the cost of the oil.
For me lowering the tax and deregulation may help but tax from oil is one of our governments biggest earners so it means less money for the government to spend on other projects and such.

I am from India. India have also this system. But India government graduly removing it. In future cost of the petrolium product decide by the market rate. For any govt. it is not possible to continue this system for long time. We must be cut down oil consumption.
