What is your opinion on dishwashers

It depends on the type/brand of dishwasher you have. If you get a heavy duty one it will do wonders. We had a cheappo in my apartment and I never used it much because the dishes would come out looking so gross. Now since we have built our home and went with quality appliances, our dishwasher is great. We hardly ever have to rewash dishes. The glasses are always sparkly!!! :-)

I have no trouble with my dishwasher, it gets things really clean most of the time.It needs to be loaded right. It certainly uses hotter water than I can by hand. I believe it sanitizes better than washing by hand. Get one of the better brands like Wirlpool, Kitchenaid, Kenmore

Dishwashers are better in most cases for getting the dishes clean as compared to washing them by hand. In terms of energy efficiency, I am tempted to believe that if one were to get the dishes as clean as in the dishwasher, then more water would be used in washing by hand.. there is a lot of energy conservation :) (in the person) by using a dish washer.. And energy efficient dishwashers today make it a compelling reason to use one over hand washing. I do agree that sometimes the dishes are not cleaned well but that is due to the way the dishes are loaded.. and/or because the dishes needed some pre-dishwasher treatment before being loaded up... Overall, dishwashers are mostly better than washing by hand...

I think dishwashers are FABULOUS and I also think they get dishes cleaner. They use HOT water to clean the dishes and heat kills germs. When you wash by hand, you generally wash with a sponge and sponges harbor germs. Ick! :b

i think they are very good, help you doing your chores.

I like dishwashers, but in our new home we dont have one, which is going to suck!

I think it's not realy clean.. better washing by hand.

I have always had a hard time with dishwashers. I alway have to make sure I've washed the dish well before I stick it in.

They get dishes cleaner than by hand and, of course, a dishwasher saves time. In my house we wouldn't be without one. Highly recommended.

I have one and wont be without one ever again!! They are great when you have big family get togethers, you get to visit instead of doing dishes all day. They come clean when you find the right cleaner that works best your dishwasher.

My mom always says hand washed is better, but I don't really care as long as I'm not the one doing the work. If I have to wash dishes, I'll for sure use a dish washer.
