Dictatorship of the ruler is still there. Previously it was of the king and the emperor and now of the politicians. The only difference is in the name of the designation of the dictator. This is the picture all over the world; of course, there may be a few exceptions. Do you also think so?

There is a difference. In North America, Britain , France and in other places , we exchange our " leaders" from time to time. I put quotes around leader because they may think they rule the people but many just ignore them. Here in the States it is very easy to just let the politicians lie as we live our lives.

In the United States we have a president and the is Barack Obama. In the United Kingdom they used to dictated by the Royal family, the Windsors. Now they are ruled by a Prime Minister. In acient Eqypt they had Pharohs as their leaders. Ever country is different.

Yes, I agree and it is what I want to called it structural dictatorship. They may have not used force as the history has taught us, but they use social, political and economic systems together with administrative and legal frame work to dictate to people to live in a certain manner which is usually in a class lower than their own and the normal ordinary people. That happens everywhere in a free demonocracy like England, America, and Australia. In India, it may have been different because you have a social system caste which is so strident even other systems can not easily penetrate into.

I get what you're saying. I think and feel that all leaders are basically dictators. Also greed it part of it. They feel mighty and powerful and think they can do anything they want. When they get a position like that, they forget where they came from. Politicians are nothing but greedy money hungry criminals. They are no better than organized crime in my book.

There is a big difference in the present day. I am from the Philippines and our country has lived through a dictator and we make sure that it never happens again. The people are very caring about democracy here and are very watchful of the actions of the politicians. One wrong move and the people will make sure that they are kicked out by any means.

hi dpctprdiddi thats not true here in the US as we elect our politician and if they do not work for t e p people they will not be voted in again when their terns are up.we are still a pretty free country 'and we do not have a dictator at all. thank goodness for that.WE have a president but he is not solely in charge and is not a dictator but our leader with the whole senate and house of representatives behind him to help him decide the issues of our country.

Yep, it's still there. It ironic, though, because the purpose of the president is to serve, not to rule.
