We all know that turtles are supposed to be slow. They are reptiles that have a reputation of hanging out in their shells putting one scaly foot in front of the other. ~ There is a video however that blows that assumption right out of the water; one hard shelled customer high-tailed it into the water faster than most people stuck in L.A. traffic get anywhere as he (or she) is confronted by a camera on a side walk. ~ http://www.wimp.com/beturtles/

When on a slick surface they do indeed have 'cruise control'. Slide on that stomach with four directional controls, make us bipeds look like idiots.

I watched the doctored video and it didn't blow anything out of the water for me. The video was true until the turtle had turned towards the water, the it was speed-ed up about 300 times. The turtle hurtled down the recline and jumped (like an Olympic Swimmer) into the water and disappeared.

My eyeballs aren't good. A doctored video could get past me...
