Does Indigestion During Pregnancy Cause Belly Pains

It is a common knowledge that pregnant women suffer from indigestion. On my part, it's not just indigestion but also gas pains. I feel so bloated sometimes, and I don't have a regular bowel movement. Does this give pregnant women belly pains? I noticed, that when I suffer from both gas pains and constipation, my belly hurts, or just a part of it. Then when I eat prunes and defecate, the pains goes away. But I'm not sure, though. Sometimes, it comes back not long after I defecated. Does urination also have anything to do with this? I just had an ultrasound this week and everything's ok. The pain is going on and off and I'm sure it's not the baby kicking.

hello Lilac, I am not sure if the pain or having indigestion is part of your pregnancy as every women suffer different kind of inconvenience during pregnancy. Better asks your ob-gyne with to ensure your baby's health. Eating prunes is good for digestion so you can keep those fruits to eat everyday. But then again,i suggest that you consult your ob-gyne for you and your baby's health. Happy Sunday

Actually, for indigestion, fresh pineapple or papaya is a great cure. Both of them have enzymes that help you digest food. It might help with constipation as well.

Indigestion causes belly pains any time if the gas gets trapped and you cannot expel it. You can use a few drops of peppermint or take a peppermint candy and it may help. I like a product callled gas-x, but you would want to ask your doctor if it was alright for you while you are expecting.

Peppermint? Really? I thought it just might add gas. How about anything menthol flavored candy like Mentos? Will that help?

I am not sure. I just know that peppermint is something they even give colicky babies. Gas-x has peppermint oil and simethicone, I believe. You sure could try the mentos and see if they help.
