I have said earlier I used to repair TV, radio, electronic equipments; I had my shop which I closed. Last week I repaired my Digital weighing machine as kind of challenge.
I had one almirah full of valves, transistors, ic’s, transformers, coils, trimmers, potentiometers, knobs, spindles, those are used; for me it is useless now.
So today I gave all to a friend, we were the only two in the city having shops, long long back,he still runs his shop, he specializes in repair of medical equipments, besides other gadgets. He can use the parts and earn fortune at times.
The valves and transistors are no more available, many types of equipment that used them are lying useless in many homes, institutions.
I think I did the right thing. What you say?
If you were in my place, will you do this?
Please respond and tell me.
Thanks in advance.
Professor ‘*Bhuwan*’. .
Cheers have a lucky day ahead.

I think you are doing a good humanity job here, by giving away your unwanted things. Since you no longer needed it anymore, it is no harm to give your unwanted things away to a friend. It will bring your friendship with him more closer. I always gave my unwanted but still in good condition things away to my friends and relatives. It can helps them save some money and i feel happy about it.

Ah professor ..then you share the same hobby as my father. My father goes a step further. He brings down others things, saying he would repair them, and when he cant find the appropriate part, those things remain in our home, FOREVER. He doesnt keep anything systematically. If I keep it properly, it will be pulled out in less than two days and it will all be in a mess once more. When he needs any part, shops are the best option. He may need nails, he goes and buys a few grams, and rest lie there for ages till they rust. I have given up. I keep hoping someday I will be able to live in a clean and neat home. May be by the time I will not have enough stamina to clean up.

I think if you were not going to use the parts anymore it was a good thing to give them to your friend as it will help his business. When someone is not using something and doesn't plan to use it again there is no sense having it lying around taking up space when it could be useful to someone. You did the right thing and it was a good deed so you have fed your spirit.

Hi Professor
This reminded me of a few years ago, where I moved in with my boyfriend. My boyfriend has a home filled with all that is needed therefore all of my 3 floors of furniture, instead of trying to sell them for cheap where I know no one is going to pay me the value of what they are worth, I contacted my church and found out that a lady with 3 children, their home burned down and did not even have a bed to sleep on. Therefore, I had my church hire a huge moving truck and gave her all of my 3 floors of furnishings.
See I could have sold them for pittance but instead I feel I gave them to a much needed family who truly could put them to more use then what anyone would be willing to give me.
So by you giving away the valuable pieces you surely helped someone else out. Sometimes it is not the money that can bring us closer to heaven, instead it is our good deeds. Truly this was a good deed on your behalf.

Of course you did good, Professor!
It is so easy to get used to throwing away stuff that is no longer of use to us and difficult to liquidate. By giving them to a one time competitor you have not only saved potential environmental damage but solidified your fiendship with this fellow. All this on top of the good karma you are building, as others have mentioned.
I hope you're not doubting your decision. Capitalism has ingrained in us a feeling of loss when others profit from our kindnesses, but you do not need to fall into that trap. Keep being yourself!

What a good deed!
Good karma is really speeding your way, I give up things I don't need too to people who needs them, like my college books, and some story books, or accessories...
It just feel nice to give and it helps tone down the clatter
