Are Siberian Huskies Good With Children?

I would love to get a Husky. They are so gorgeous and I have heard really cool things about them. However, I have children and I am a little worried about it. I have heard from some people that their good and then I have heard from other people that their not...
If you have a HUsky with kids please let me know your thoughts! =)

Huskies are great with kids. However, it would be a good idea to get a puppy as opposed to an older one. That way he can learn to be gentle while he's small. As he grows up he'll want to "play" more which could lead to rougher interactions so just make sure that when he gets to that stage 1) The kids are old enough (stable/walking) and 2) the puppy doesnt get too rough. Older dogs have harder time with some common interactions of kids like spontaneous actions, tugging, and throwing things. I think allowing them to grow up together is the best idea and will foster an amazing bond, like the one I had with my dog. Taking care of a companion is a great experience for a child :D

I think you have some great points and I agree that a puppy would probably be a better choice! I wish Huskies weren't so expensive to adopt. My husband and I have wanted one forever and they are a very expensive breed. They are so beautiful and very loyal dogs. They seem to be the perfect choice for us.

I don't have a husky, i know it is a nice dog because my neighbor has one. About getting it when you have little kids, i think it is not a bad idea. But why don't you consider a lap dog where your kids can play with like pug, dachshund, chihuahua, and other affectionate dogs so your kids can play with. :)

No offense at all but little dogs aren't for me. I really like bigger dogs that will also protect my family. =)

I had one of these growing up! He was the coolest dog ever. They're really clever and affectionate. We never had any problems with ours besides the normal things like chewing on shoes and whatnot. He never once bit my brother or I, and we had him from the time I was four up until the time I was eight.

I don't know if they are great with kids.I don't know much about this breed of dogs.
