Why don't TV programmes show cast lists anymore?

Don't you find it irritating when TV programmes don't show the names of the actors next to their characters? Why can't they have a cast list so we don't have to play stupid guessing-games of who's who until we have seen a few episodes? It is so frustrating for an avid people-watcher like me NOT to know someone's name, and be able to easily identify them again in another programme that I might want to watch! Sometimes, as I don't buy any TV guides, the only way I can find out the names of the more obscure actors is to look them up on http://www.imdb.com
I highly recommend this site to any of you film or TV fans. It is a mine of information for the frustrated! ;)

There are times when I want to see the cast list and there are times when I wished they'd just show the next film immediately.
imdb is really a good site. I get a lot of information there about actors/actresses and the movies they participated in.

Oh Im bad as I didnt notice this 
but Im one to not remember names or movie tittles or song tittle or band names 
. So it wouldnt really matter to me if the names are there or not.
Maybe you could send an email to the big tv channels and ask them why? Surely with the computers now, it would be so easy to put the names in there!!

There are too many of them that don't bother with them anymore that it would take a year to send all the emails! I must admit that it is mostly the US ones that are the culprits!

Usually in the beginning of programming, I regularly see the main characters in the television show. I suppose you mean movies, which I see the cast listings for at the credits, but I don't know, sometimes they forward it all so fast on channels like TNT, TBS, any channel like that, because they figure most people don't care to see it anyhow.
