I am honestly not sure what else could possibly go wrong this month. It needs to be over already! As you may know or not know I had problems with my laptop. Well now it's my desktop comouter. Thank goodness it is not making noise but however there is a problem. Just yesterday when I was surfing the internet on YouTube a pop up screen came onto the computer calling itself vista anti security system saying I have a virus and if I want the virus or I have to pay for there 60-90 dollar program. It will not allow me to restore computer or even go on the Internet without this shutting the programs down saying I am unprotected and I need to buy their software. Okay I have norton and I have avast. Neither of them are popping up. I tried adjusting my proxy settings but that is not helping the problem. I cannot close the program because there is no exit button. It is not allowing me to do anything not even uninstall programs. What could this possibly be and how can I fix it. Sorry for misspelled words i am on my last source I have Internet life to and that is my iPod touch!

I could see your not having to much luck the last couple of days, first your laptop now and now your desktop. I had that happened to me in my husband previous laptop, again it was about 2 years old and my husband and I abused it. But unfortunately when that happened, the whole computer shut down and crashed. Apparently it was a virus, we attempted to get repaired and a friend of ours tried restoring it, but it was useless. Hopefully that is not the case with yours.

No someone actually said that this had happened to them and they switched users which is what I did and now it is not popping up on this new user. So I am not sure if it is a virus. But if it was wouldnt it happen throughout the whole computer?

Not necessarily, it sometimes affect different programs. With my incident it did however effect the whole entire computer.

I too would recomend using malwarebytes i used it when i had a similar problem. What i did was put my computer into safemode with networking i downloaded and then ran malwarebytes and it got rid of the problem.Since then i have recomended that others do the same and it has sorted out their problems as well and i would recommend malwarebytes to anyone.

The best solution is to reinstall your operating system(Windows). And if you are using Windows XP then I would suggest you to upgrade to Windows 7 as Windows XP has been around for many years and there are a lot viruses out there which work flawlessly on it. But if you don't want to upgrade then you should reinstall it and use it with cautions. You should not be installing programs from untrusted source.

That is very bad condition where you are force to buy something without any choice. That is so bad. And the worst is the cost is extremly high for anti virus. Better try to find out other way such as re install the windows or change it to linux for better way. Insert the linux DVD and then let it isntall it self. After it install then you can delete the windows or format it. It is very bad forcing to buy program. I hope not to get such condition
