Cool bit of phylosophy you have there, Ted. I don't know if I can agree. I'm going along and looking ahead. All seems wonderful in the world and then SLAM there is a big boulder right there and no missing it or swerving around it and didn't see it until there was no missing it. Sometimes you just have to hit the brakes and get off and work to move that obsticle out of your way.

Yup, sometimes the obstacles do hit you without warning, so do you let the obstacle define your life, or do you work through it and get past it?

I think that looking ahead is a great thing. If you can see whats coming, you could iron out all the wrinkles so that you will have a smooth road ahead. But, there are times that we may hit those rocks, and those times are learning experiences for us.

True, there are times when the rocks are unavoidable, and traversing those rocks is important. That is another good life lesson.

These are some Good words to live by my friend. Life is like riding a motorcycle or a bike, and once you fall off it is time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get riding again. And when you take time to look ahead, and not at your distractions you will be much better off as well.

i parated sometimes i believe you are right it is a lot like reading a motorcyles. a few years back I knew my son was not happy in his job althugh it paid pretty well but the sticker w as that they raised our pat rent a lot and what had seemed like a great salary for my son was not quite paying all the bills after the rent. Thats when there were still lots of jobs in his computer field too. He moaned and groaned about it but did not really look for a new job.
I feel now I should have really talked him into looking for a better paying job. another six months later we rode our motorcycle off the road into big boulders and crashed. he was laid off, the company went bankrupt and we were evicted as we got behind on the rent. well we are now in separate dwellings as I am elderly so i am here in this tiresome retirement center while he has a part time job and is in a gov. sponsored apt with three other guys. We are okay just not where we would like to have been but we should have kept our eyes on the road to start with . foresight is much better than hindsight do not you agree?

When my oldest son was learning to ride a bike he would do fine until he went past a house with a chain link fence around their front yard. He'd always begin to wobble and finally wind up hitting the fence until I told him that very thing you posted, DO NOT LOOK AT THE FENCE! lol
Good advice, keep your eyes off the distractions or the things that you fear and always look at your goal.

I heard someone said that life is like riding a bicycle too. I guess both of these have similar meaning. Yes, life is like riding a bicycle because if you are not intend to move forward, then you will fall down because of unbalance. Therefore, to enjoy your life, you must keep moving forward.
