Wrong DIRECTION, Are you sure where you're heading?

I woke up early today, so I got early in the office. On my way to the office, I have to walk around 50 meters from where I come down from the PUV. I am almost near the office, when two ladies, actually they're mother and daughter, approached me and asked. "Hi, where's the PRC located?" I immediately said, "oh, it's here! This is PRC!" that's with a bright morning *grin*, and she clarified "So this is where we're going to file for the board examination?" I was shocked! No! This PRC location where my office is situated is not Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) but Philippine Racing Club (PRC) Incorporated. They must have been confused with the two acronyms. And so, I just instructed them where to ride a PUV and how to get where they wanted to go. So guys, have you been lost because of wrong assumptions (maling akala)? Wrong instructions? Wrong directions?

Aww poor thing! That must have been a shock to them. Honestly, I thought that was what PRC meant, too (that is the one located somewhere near Chino Roces, Makati?). Once I worked at an office at a highrise building in Ayala. I was shocked one morning to find my office was replaced by another company!!! Turns out, the building had two towers. My office was at Tower 1 and I was standing at the 19th floor of Tower 2. LOOOOLLLl!!!

That was really funny my friend. Well, I guess you're not the only one who experienced the same. It's always good though to make sure where you're heading before taking a step. Good for you it's just on the other building, but those two ladies are in a far away direction from the one they intended to head to... Just because of wrong assumptions. hmmmm...

Quite an amusing story. I have never such experience though and hope I won't get such mistake. Acronyms in the Philippines can be very confusing sometimes so I don't blame them for making an honest mistake.

I once thought of it as a branch of PRC the real government agency thing. But I found out it's not when I moved here in my current office. LOL. Acronyms are very confusing, and now, I use to ask around what's the acronym stands for. Just to avoid wrong assumptions.

chuyins123, I suppose this is one of the reasons why I do not go on abbreviations alone when it comes to giving directions or information. Usually, I would try to find out further by asking what they are doing at the place of interest, when I am aware of another place having the same or somewhat similar abbreviations. In a sense, they may not only be a distance between each other but their scope of service provided. I just hate being responsible for some missed deadline or punctuality is being affected. Cheerio.
