What exactly trigger you to give or not give a rating to the whatever user ?
Supposing you are answering to a discussion or commenting or replying to someone. Do you click the + or the - ? Why, what makes you to remember those 2 buttons and click'em in a particulary topic and not also in anotherone ?

I am good at remembering and will do so immediately upon seeing them. I do try and follow the guidelines and do not spot hardly ever anything negative. I am good at plus rating all who respond to my discussion whether we agree or not. Absolutely anything healthy for the community deserves a plus rating, even if the opinion differs of mine.
There have been several times I have not agreed with a response and after re-reading it, it has made a great point. Therefore healthy debates are good contributions to myLot and also deserve a positive rating too.

This is absolutely real and true: debate is what makes things be better.
After all, is because of up and down being oposite, we can accept there is a middle way leading to progress 
So, at the end of the day, your solution to avoid usage of the "-" is to ignore things are to annoying or offensive ?

You are very right about the re-reading "opponent"'s post before jump into conclusions. And is a part of trying your best to have a conversation and not a monologue or a fight.
After all, indeed is a very good - and obvious - way to live a nice life in mylot world, the "skip it, if you do not like it". That, back-it up by your willing to not interffer with otherone's earnings, is to be followed.
And "I do not play with members earnings." is to be nominated as the most valuable phrase of this year.

Many here on myLot have not taken the time to learn the DRS system. Therefore, are using it wrongly and or not using it at all.
Thank you so much for the BR and will continue to enjoy my time here as a loyal member.

I have only used the - button once. A discussion was started and someone that responded showed disrespect to the person that wrote the discussion and us that read and responded to that discussion.
I will read a discussion and + it.
I don't have to agree with who wrote what they wrote but they took the time to write something for us to reply to and if I took the time to read it I should give them a rating
So I always put a +.
Then as I scroll down and read what others wrote I quickly rate them as well.
I think this gives respect to everyone that is taking the time to reply to the discussion.
I will write a reply and whoever is on the same page as me gets ratings.
If there are pages and pages of responses I don't go through them all.
Just the page that my reply is on.
