Stress to Relax..

I have found over the past few years, well, mainly since 'flying the nest', that all I have pretty much done is get wound up over bills, working on my career etc.. all to just lay down on the sofa at the end of the night (after all the daily domestic chores are done too!)..to let out a BIG Sigh and 'stress' about the next day..
Then I received an email, which got me thinking- EVERYONE IS STRESSED! well, in some way or other..the email was giving me tips on how to de stress my life.. and I will now share them with all of you, my blogging friends-
1. ORGANIZE- as much as you possibly can..trust me thinking ahead, jotting ALL appointments down in a calendar diary or electronic system (such as Iphone).. A huge amount of last minute run arounds will be substantially decreased..
2. EXERCISE- (*SIGH*)..Yes, I know..but exercise is a great way to release those good feeling hormones 'ENDORPHINES'. Stress and anxiety contribute to being overweight or a negative self perception of ourselves- feelings of depression etc..
SO GO OUTSIDE- kick a ball around, or just go for a steady mile jog.. or if your 'too busy' there are hundreds of what I like to call 'lazy exercises' about..(if your unsure of these, please ask and ill be more than happy to post)
3. TRAIN YOUR MIND- Like any other muscle in your body..your mind requires stimulation otherwise it gradually deteriorates- activities such as yoga, meditation, or simply reading a book..are useful techniques..
As the old saying goes..'If the problem can be solved, why worry about it..and if it cannot be solved, worrying will do no good at all'
Its important to train your mind not to worry.. as stress can create many health problems for people!
I do hope these couple of tips have been of some use.. what I would like to ask though, is how do you relax to chase the stress of the day away?.

Yes, I DO need to do the exercise thing. I have tried to put yoga into my nightly routine since it is too hot to do anything outside this time of the year. Also, I bought some stress relief body scrub. It has aromatherapy in it. A lot of research shows some scents de-stress people. So at night I'll use it when I take a shower, and I admit it does help relax me somewhat.
You give good tips. I will try to heed your advice!

Yoga meditation has become my favorite way of relaxation and getting rid of the stresses of the day. I would practise meditation every evening after I get back home from work, for atleast 30 minutes, some days for one hour. Meditation is very good for mental as well as physical health.

hie friend nice discussion and tips i really appreciated about the content you have published in your discussion, it is very necessary for ourselves to know how to deal with stress. Nowadays many of us are dealing with this problem more rapidly people are very frustrated about this. Thus resulting in many health problems. I myself iam dealing with stress everyday, iam really depressed about my relationship problems and keep on worrying about different situations this makes me sleepless at night. The best way to deal is that i used to get involved in something like playing football and video games this makes my mind more acquainted with all the rest activities. Thanks once again for posting such a useful content on Mylot. If you have such helpful things please do start a discussion.

Hi Princelierocks..I relate to your post, and I am experiencing slight unhappiness myself..thing is though we tend to find 'unhealthy' ways to manage our stress levels ie..through smoking, binge eating/drinking etc.
I know that stress exists in some way, shape or form in peoples lives and if my little tips are of any use to all fellow bloggers- I shall continue to post such info as Im constantly advising friends and family LoL..
And it would be great to share others coping mechanisms too..i wish you all the best in resolving your personal issues my friend, and if I can help, please feel to ask.. (",)

Thanks for these tips! They all sound like great ways to relax and unwind at the end of a busy day.. For me, though, the best way to relax is to have a nice long, hot bath. With bubble bath if I have it, otherwise with some bath salts or bath oil or anything really that smells nice! It leaves you feeling so relaxed and refreshed, you should try it sometime!
