The $350 wine whine.

As if they are out to prove the stereotype that the left can't seem to understand the difference between a person's own money and the taxpayer's money, they are whining over wine. It seems Rep. Paul Ryan was out on the town with a few friends. They were spotted drinking wine that costs $350 a bottle. This is apparently what passes for "news" nowadays. First of all, it's a non story, who cares how much Paul Ryan (or anyone else, right or left) spends on dinner? It's not like the place was cheap for anyone, even those not willing or able to pay hundreds for their glorified grape Kool-AID. The same people whining over the wine forget that Prs. Obama has this weekly party where the wine flows and the steaks are anything but rare... at the tune of $100/lbs. Do we think the wine that goes with that slab of beef comes from a box? I bet the per plate price of Obama's festivities far outweighs what was spent on Mr. Ryan's dinner. The big difference here is, the dinner at the bistro was being paid for by individuals, out of their own pocket... Barry & Michelle's meat menagerie is paid for by you, me, and a few loans from offshore investors. So whine all you want, but all you're doing is showing your true, ignorant colors.

Yeah, I'm really sick of hearing people b!tch about how republicans spend THEIR OWN money. Remember all the people whining about how many homes or cars McCain owned? I remember something recently where they were complaining about Newt Gingrich too. He just responded by saying he manages his money well, pays down his credit cards on time, has no debt, and can spend his money however he pleases.

It's telling how they don't mind how liberals spend THEIR own money.

We do tend to mix political opinions and gossip in to places it does not belong. When private citizens pay their own way, they may indulge in whatever legal food or drink they want. On the other hand, we have to draw a fine line for the president between being economical and being suitable for the office. I really think this country has more important issues, and as you said, a private individual can spend what his pocket can tolerate.
