One time I ate 1 bar of chocolate and suddenly after a minute I felt numb all over my face. I started also to palpitate is this really true that chocolate causes palpitation because of the caffeine content?

Chocolate can also interfere with some medicines and cause gastric problems in people who have hiatal hernias. My doctor told me this, but I am like most women, I love chocolate too much to want to give it up completely so I do indulge every once in awhile.

Chocolate actually comes from cacao fruit, processed to become the finished product. Chocolate has caffeine content but in small amount only. There are some brands that added additives for flavor. Sometimes they substitute cocoa content to reduce the cost of the production because pure cocoa from cacao fruit is expensive. There are brand who produces with almost pure cocoa content, and they call it dark chocolate, with almost solid cocoa content and that has too much caffeine in it. You also have to know that there are people who are allergic to chocolate. To be safe, just eat it in moderate amount just to give you enough kick for a day!
