Burning CD's.

Isn't it amazing to be able to burn cd's? I thought i would start this discussion, but its more of a story, and i had a dream last night that reminded me about it. i remember being 11 years old, and standing in my bedroom listening to the top 40 singles chart on the radio, with my casette in its holder, and pressing record to the songs i liked, and hitting stop to the ones i didnt! ... i would sit there from 4pm til 7pm and listen to every single song, recording the ones i liked. if i'd to go do something, eat dinner, or go somewhere, i would press record and leave it running, then i would rewind, fast forward quickly to scan what i'd recorded, and then fill in the songs i didnt like, with songs i did like, usually recording over the start of other ones i'd kept from my free recording lol! .. i remember getting shortly after my first cd, michael jackson history, and asking my dad why i couldn't record songs onto a cd, as it would be so much easier considering a song went into a slot, instead of on a freerolling tape.. he laughed at me and said you can't record onto a cd, and said .. maybe someday.. and yet here i am.. burning a cd :) :)

Burning cds is not really my thing. Wood is much better - easier to light and you get an amazing flame from it which can be mesmerising. Of course the ultimate is a good shovelful of nutty slack. I get such pleasure giving it a good poke and watching the sparks fly off.

Sometimes I look back at technological addvancment and wonder how we managed to make it this far. Growing up, there seemed to be an explosion of technological breakthroughs to cable, cordless phones, cell phones, tapes, cds, dvds and cell phones. Technology is still advancing quickly (At least one new phone a year) as well as the invention of blu-ray and even browising the internet through televisions. In fact it seems in the blink of an eye... all the tube-based televisions are gone replaced with high-tech flat screen televisions. It's kind of d fun looking back and wondering... how did we get this far? I guess I'm going off into a Rant. Something I didn't mean to do, but oh.... well. I guess your story brought a lot back. I saw the world change into the digital age. I'm so glad we have what we do now.

fast forwarding, recording, and pausing, live television, BAFFLES ME! like completely.. i know that when you hit play again it resumes to where it is on everyone elses channels, but it completely blows my mind! i remember like you having a flatscreen tv but with a huge back, and how much of a big deal it was that it wasn't bowed anymore, and now look at us! tv's as thin as notebooks.. complete madness like! we'll be flying around soon! lol!
