No, this isn't about Duterte. This is about an incident that happened to me while on the South Luzon Expressway.
We had just come from Pansol, Laguna after an overnight stay that my Dad had for his employees. We were on the slow lane because my Dad, who was driving behind me, did not want to go over 80 KPH. We were planning on stopping over at one of the several Gas Stations along the expressway that have Coffee Shops.
As soon as I spotted a nearby Gas Station about 500 meters from me I signalled to move to the right lane. The car on the right lane, a black Honda Jazz, flashed its lights signalling me that they would pass. So I immediately signalled back that I was going back to the left lane to let them pass.
The Honda Jazz passed by me and the driver flashed me his middle finger.
That ignited my temper. I immediately gunned the car and moved behind him leaving my Dad behind. The Jazz turned towards the gas station unaware that I was behind him. I immediately parked the car, pulled the handbrake and left it running at neutral while my girlfriend tried to stop me from getting off. My tita and the other female employees already know about my temper so they tried to calm me down.
I still got off and walked towards the black Honda Jazz.
The driver probably recognized that I was the driver of the Green Adventure that he just flipped a bird at and he started his engine. I ran dashed towards his car. Man versus machine is an unfair battle. I was unable to reach him in time and he was a couple of meters away already.
He stopped his car. I stopped too. I waited for him to reverse his engine and face me like a man. He sped off instead.
By then, Ramil, one of our employees had caught up with me. The security guards also caught up with us and asked us what the commotion was about. I declined to comment. Ramil explained to them because he had seen how rude the other person was to me.
The thing is, I follow road rules. If you flip a finger at anyone, you better be prepared to defend it. I'm a pretty calm guy except when someone disrespects me. That's when I take the offensive.
I wonder if that other guy was low on fuel and had to gas up. Well he'll have to find another gas station.
After that incident, we brushed it off and went to get our coffee which we initially planned on getting.

What is a 'tita'? Sounds like quite a dazzling situation. Shame on your temper! Did either of you learn a lesson? No! So hope you had a nice coffee and probably something funny to tell. SOme drivers have very bad manners. Why would he do that anyway? Did he feel you were in his way or inconveniencing him in some way?

a tita is our vernacular term for aunt.
i learned not to run after cars
i hope he learned that flipping someone the finger might get results just like what happened
and no we didn't really talk about the incident. the employees talked amongst themselves.

I think such things should be ignored in the future. Couldn't ended badly.

That rude man should tune up his manners. Lucky he is, he's in Metro Manila. If he do that here in the province, he'll see Armalite bullets flying over his head.

I can understand you frastration and anger. I would do the same thing, front up with the man and ask him if he was a man. And it was good that you did it because he now knew that if he goes on doing this again there will be angry people around. You can give people bad manners for kindness they give you, it is a lesson now for them.
