Here in this installment on combat training I will be discussing different types of tactics that can be use to defend your self on the street. There are different areas of tactics that can be learned. The first type is striking. Striking consists of closed handed and open handed strikes, it also incorporates elbows, and head butts. In my personal opinion open handed strikes are faster and can cause more damage in the long run. In fact tactics like elbows and head butts can knock a person out or even kill them. The next set of tactics that need to be learned are kicking tactics. Now kicking also includes knee strikes as well. Now there are different types of kicking tactics, but for the purpose of street fighting you should keep you kicks below the waist. Another set of tactics that need to be learned are throwing tactics. As well along with throwing tactics you need to learn choking tactics and joint locking tactics. Now one thing that I would like to state about grappling is, is that it is safe to take a person down to the ground, but it is not safe to go to the ground. So once you get your opponent to get ground follow up with kicking and stomping tactics. Now as far as trapping tactics goes they are good to learn but you should only train with a couple of basic trapping tactics. Like with me I train the pak sao, jut sao, and bong sao,and lop sao. You also need to learn weapons tactics. Now in learning weapons tactics even though it is important to learn how to fight with a weapon it is more important to learn how to defend against a weapon. The last and final set of tactics that you need to learn are defensive tactics. These tactics are what keeps you from getting hit in a fight. Now when you start to learn these tactics you should start off with practicing them singularly at a slow pace. Then as you get better bump up the speed a little bit and as well start practicing them in combination. As well no matter how good you get at doing a tactic or combination of tactics you should always keep practicing them and you should always keep safety in mind when training them.
