This is why cops have no right to access Concealed Carry Permit information

Many state Concealed Carry laws include unconstitutional and just plain dangerous language allowing cops to access the concealed carry permit database.
They erroneously claim that cops need to know this information to make them safer in routine traffic stops.
LIE!!!
First of all, every cop who wants to go home after their shift treats ALL routine traffic stops the same. Knowing that the owner of the car has a concealed carry permit doesn't change anything about how they approach the car and the driver.
Also, just because the person whose name appears on the registration and title has a concealed carry permit doesn't mean the person actually driving the car at the time does.
On the other hand, here is an example of how access to such information can make things more dangerous for the driver of the car...

I agree with everything you said.
However, in the interest of being honest... what difference would it have made in this video?
If anything, if the police officer had known ahead of time that the individual had a CCW, they would have dealt with that first, and the problem would have never happened.
Now again... I agree with everything you said. I don't think police should have access to information that is none of their concern. We should have the right to defend ourselves, and not be hounded by government.
But what happened here was a classic human reaction. The police botched this traffic stop from the start. You always secure the drive, and you never search a car with someone behind the drivers seat... Ever. If he had been a real scum bucket, he could have shifted that sucker into drive, and killed that police officer half in and half out of the car.
Horrible horrible operation. And to top it off, they had an armed person in their midst the whole time.
The reason the cop went off, is the same reason many (usually men) go off when something doesn't work. The video suggest the officer forgot he was on camera... wrong. He knew explicitly he was on camera, and now he was going to get chewed out, and his film used as a blooper reel for new cop training, on how to not do a traffic stop.
This is why he exploded. He messed up big time, and it was all caught on camera. So exploding on this guy wasn't going to make things much worse. (of course it did since his video is no all over the internet).
Now again, I agree with everything you said... I just don't see how this is really support for your argument.
What the Nazi did to disarming the Jews is a better support for why we don't want government having that information. But hey... it's all good.

Wow. We've come a long way since the late 70's and my encounter with a cop when I had a concealed weapon. It was in my glove compartment and I was on a 3AM run for dinner for my co-workers. He asked if I had weapons and I replied that I did and told him where. He told me that it should be in plain sight on the seat beside me and if stopped again I should keep my hands on the wheel so as not to appear threatening. He then instructed me in the proper and legal way to carry a weapon in Arizona and how to carry it in my purse legally, even how to rig up a legal holster without having to buy one.
The world has gone mad.
