they called my friend to the office today, telling him he is doing a good job, and he was happy thinking that he is getting a promotion or a raise, but puff nothing just thanks, he ve been doing a good job for 3 years now, i think that the only reason they should call him is to give him a reward a some more money on his paycheck, what you think./?

Three years with no raise? That is ridiculous. If he has been doing a good job for three years now he is well past the point of deserving a raise. They are lucky to still have him there doing a good job for them after that long without a raise.

they give him a couple of cents every year but not a big deal, i do think he should find a better job. it about personality that's why i think he kept doing a good job.

Did your friend ever been given a raise for the 3 years he'd spent in his work? Because if he didn't and as you say he is doing a good job, I think it is time for him to seek greener pastures and seek for a company that knows how to value his worth. In my company apart from being commended on our work, we are given an annual increase base on our performance evaluation for the year. Sure, a thank you and a commendation can boost our ego but I think it would be a very good motivation if such good work can also reflect on our paycheck.

yes he received a couple of cents annually nothing big, i m hes direct boss and i see how he works, but nothing i can do cause i also have bosses. and i do think its time for him to find a better opportunity, we never talked about the fact but its disturbing, employee appreciation is the key to keep a business running.

Well if think he really is doing a great job then it's better to look for a greater company! haha. But seriously, you should try to look around and seek greener pasteurs as they say. At the same time, you can test your market value as an employee or worker.
