Theft from Airline Luggage

It was on The O'Reilly Factor that Laura Ingram had some items taken from her checked luggage. Her concern was not so much that things were taken but that things could be put into her bag if someone can take thing out. The airline is going to investigate and so is the Factor. This reminded me of a warning that my son received when traveling back to the states after being deployed in Iraq. The warning was to carry all valuables in their carry on luggage. It seemed that in some US airports soldiers were missing lap tops, CD, and other valuable items from their bags. Since they took their checked bags to the plane them selves in Iraq and they were off loaded once they hit the states by the airline and then check through TSA once they cleared Customs and made their connecting flight the theft occurred in the US. The airlines had video tape of the luggage being off loaded and placed in the luggage pick up area for them to claim and take to clear customs then rechecked by the airline and checked by TSA. The only time is was not video taped was when the TSA had control over the bags., It seemed that the TSA Union had in the contract that the workers could not be video tapped. I wonder who was taking all the stuff?

I flew from London to Cartagena De Indias. Our baggage was thought lost but we found out it was delayed. The man at the airport brought it over to us at the hotel. I was jet lagged after such a bothersome and long journey. You see our flight from London to Madrid arrived two hours late due to fog. This meant we missed our connection and luckily another airline took us on their plane to Bogota. We arrived close to midnight and were given a hotel room. We got up at 4 to check in at 6 and the domestic terminal. We had two sunshades and a rain cover lost. I don't know who steals from airline luggage. If an employee is caught doing this he would be sacked and the police would be involved. A laptop should go in hand luggage and I got a smash in my screen which I replaced when I got back home.
