Why does India always depend on Dravid to bail them out?

Its been more than 15 years he started playing. Yet year after year, India have depended on him to bail them out. Rahul Dravid, the WALL as he is so called is not called the WALL for nothing. At an age when he should have already hung up his boots and retired, he is still doing the same job that he is so famous for doing. Remember, he is not too young anymore for Cricket. His bones may be aching a little bit and his reflexes may be a little weak, but mind you the resolve is still the same. But the question is, 15 years later, India again begin a series and falter. Again there is Rahul Dravid standing between India and defeat. It is certainly not a pleasant situation to be in, time and again, especially not for a team which is said to be number one in the world. Are there no other players who have the guts to do this. One person who comes a close second could be Laxman. But why does India come into this position again and again

Rahul Dravid is one of the top test players India have in the team and he has also saved the match in the earlier occasions. It has become a habit of our team to depend too much on one person like the fans expect Sachin to score a ton in all the matches he's playing, expect Dhoni to win all the matches, Yuvraj to hit sixes etc. Similarly when Dravid is on the crease we relieve the tension of losing a match with a confidence that he'll lead it to a draw. Let's see how our very very special laxman is tackling the current situation.

At the time of me posting this, the team has already lost. It is rather so unfortunate that such valiant efforts have to go in vain. But one can help. Such things happen. I hope such occurances are less so that India remains the number one team in the world.

I think when our Indian teams going down means when they could not play well and when their situation become very worst then they needs Dravid should play a very good innings. Because we have 2 most talented players in our Indian cricket team named Dravid and Laxman. These 2 players have guts to pull match in the hand of opposition team. So our Indian team hopes always from these players.
