Hello LOtters,
Well, they aren't exactly NEW. Here's the sad reality of it, my mom's CPU is irreparable because the motherboard is completely screws despite of my middle brother's attempt to have back online and on track. with that, I've decided to salvage that can still be reusable for my PC.
Good my brother went for a visit today so that he can installed it. I removed the 40 gigabyte Hard-drive and the Asus DVD-Rom (which was originally mine). but I never put back the Floppy Disk drive, who use them anyways
?
There are two parts that hasn't been removed in that other CPU; the power supply and two memory cards. is there any one here who can show me where i can buy an pc adapter that allows to cater two more additional memory cards?
Honestly, My PC is already five years old, how do i Know? before i replaced our old Cmos Battery, the timer kept switching back to March 26, 2007
and had to restart it to update it's date. well, it's a lot better now than before..
I've been thinking of adding a a TV Tuner/ TV Box and Video card Driver someday. So that not only I could have a Good video visual and a TV in my PC, which is not bad, saves electricity. Just hope Motherboard can Hold it up..
Some how, it would have been easy to just buy a new one but I'd rather have upgrades since my motherboard still works.
Have a nice day

Hi letran knight: I think that's a nice idea and it's also friendly to the environment. These parts are useful and they can safe you some money if they still can be used as parts. I honestly love this attitude over those that want to have everything new.

Hello, LK. It is a good exercise to salvage useful parts from old PC. Since your PC is also old - may be contemporary with your mother's - the parts will work fine with some adopters. These days obsolescence is a major headache for such procedures. You maybe able to use the HDD if there is a slot available in the cabinet of your PC. But you have to format it though. I did the same when I installed a larger HDD, and kept the old one also for additional storage. Floppy drive is surely of no use. The RAM cards could be of use if they are compatible with the existing ones on your system. Otherwise they too cannot go with your system. The power supply SMPS too should have the required rating to support your processor. But you can certainly keep it as standby for use in the event of your power supply unit failing. You can salvage the ribbon cable connectors too if they are in good condition. Probably you can swap the cabinet too depending on which has better appearance! The Processor also can be kept as spare. You have not mentioned what make and model it is.
You may find some chip-level servicing persons in need of the parts on the damaged mother board who can pay something for it too.
I have an internal Pinnacle TV tuner installed in my PC, which is used by me nowadays only to record some programs to be viewed at my convenience. I have a Frontech external TV tuner for my lap top which also I use for the same purpose. With so much of time we have to spend on the PCs/laptops for mylot and other work we can hardly find time for watching TV on the systems.

Hello hanuma,
So
THAT's HOW people get to record those videos and put them In the INTERNEt
because of the tv tuner all along. I think i will buy that some day with the video card, do you need vide card to make the coverage of tv turner good? just a question though. I may have to consider buying some gadgets still.
