On Music and Noise

Every bad thing tries to stick with some good thing, to survive and spread. This a natural phenomenon found in all endeavors of life. Weeds grow with useful plants, nasty intentions are hidden in godly things, etc. and similarly, noise keeps company with musical tones. Else these unwanted things would have disappeared from earth because of their regular rejections whenever caught. It looks nature works in opposition to keeping only desirable things in its stride. The reality is quite different. Nature keeps the spectrum in its wholeness. It is we, who are attuned to certain things and mark other things as bad things. Since, we are not the whole, the Nature is needed to take care, it carries the whole spectrum - some for us and other things for other species of life. Noise in a musical tone is nothing but sounds at frequencies different from the tone frequencies. It may look undesirable to us, but serves purpose of others. This teaches us one lesson - nothing is bad or good in the world, it is only a matter of mutual compatibilities - the essence of all relationships in the Cosmos.

why not every good thing tries to stick with some bad thing,or is that we can just see in our view and tell certain things that they are good and bad. In this world a good thing is not always a good thing for every person,it can be a bad thing for some one. In the same way a bad thing can be not bad for all ,it can cause something good for some one. So the world just goes like that. However the manager who is god sees that not a single person feel only good or only bad.He tries to balance everything and every where. We just can not even imagine.

Yes, Uma, good and bad things are relative and subjective. Therefore, we should not attach much meaning to goodness or badness of things. We should just take things as they are instead o attaching labels on them. I find you are attaining philosophical maturity, and this pleases me highly. All the best, my dear, keep it up.

Philosophy ,where does it come from,i think every person is having this knowledge ,some speak out some do not. If we attach labels for good and bad ,practically if we try this out then i think everyperson has both the labels. Every person is not totally good and not totally bad.Its the situations which come across make any one to be thought like that.

hello ram, I want to respond on this "nothing is bad or good in the world," (quoted) How can you say that there is "noise" in musical instrument? Isn't because of "awareness" Same thing with "good" ,how can we determine good from bad if we are not aware what is good and what is bad? Why are YOU AWARE that there is NOISE in Musical tone ? ...isn't because of your "awareness" If you are not aware of all these comparison or differences, imperfection, and everything....then, how can you explain where do these things came from,or who do they exist? Are you saying there is NO LIGHT and DARKNESS!....now explain. jaiho®

It is individual's intellect that guides him/her on goodness/badness of things. Since, there exist individual differences, goodness and badness too are subjective and temporal. My dear, you are in a philosophical mood while I am a simple rustic to understand only plain things. I need to learn a lot from friends like you whom I consider pretty intelligent. I like you this way. Keep it up.
