for me Eddie Murphy lost his touch or charm. he became a boastful person for all this years. me and my wife enjoys watching Coming to America and it is on our favorite movies to watch list. i can say too that he is good at Dream girls but the rest of his movies are no longer funny. i enjoy him more on shrek and mulan as mushu the dragon. i dont know if it is only me or you observe that too.

hi there, syoti. syoti is a chinese word right? well my post is based only on my observation. my wife enjoys watching Hollywood star news on tv and sometimes i dont have a choice but to sit there and watch it with her. plus i saw his 2008 movie Meet Dave and 2009 movie Imagine That, and his approach to comedy is still that old stlye. of course if you watch his movie you might get a different opinion or reaction. thanks a lot for the response

Yes , i agree with you. He is quite 'funny' in the first few of his earlier movies but he become complacent after gaining much fame for himself in Hollywood. Now i seldom watch his movie and has no interest to see him act as much of his performance is as similar as his previous acts, it is getting old for me without something new out of him. I may watch his new movie if a different character turn out to be acceptable and professional in nature.

i no longer watch his movie, but if i catch it on HBO i will sit and see how he is. but i guess his acting has just like that... loud mouth and sarcastic. he was type cast already as like that. he no longer acted a role based on the what the role was asking of him but he just act the same on every movie. thanks a lot for the response. have a great week.

i think that humor does not go away from a person. it is always there. i think it depends on his role in the movie. for me, he remains to be funny when he wants to be. eddie murphy is an excellent comedian. well, there are more upcoming comedians in the film industry. i think he still has funny bones which are capable to make us laugh, just like before.

yes a humor will always be there, but if it the same style or same manner you will get bored of it as time goes by. when he was at Ellen Degeneres show, he said he is planning to go back on his first love stand-up comedy. that i guess is something to watch, we can see if he still fill up a theater for his act. thanks a lot for the response and that is only my observation.

I don't know why you say that. Do you know him personally? I also like his funny way of humor and I like watching his movie. Any actor or any celebrity can be easily accused of being rude or bad,but we never knew them personally. Media and prints can destroy their personality. Even with ordinary people,if we believe in gossips...then we judge the person without even knowing him/her personally. have a good day jaiho®

i dont need to know him personally to observe him. his been an actor for so many years already. this is only my observation it does not mean that this is true or it might be true we dont know, but still it is just my observation. and in news about hollywood stars even reporters, paparazzi, producers say that he has changed for all this years. true that media and prints can destroy them but they dont put it in print if they dont observe that as well. again is it only my observation and opinion. thanks a lot for the response.

I use to so enjoy his earlier films where he had me laughing all the time. He does seem to have lost his edge and not quite as funny as he once was. This happens to some of them where they sort of loose a bit of their charm.

Although I don't immediately agree that he's become a bigheaded jerk, still, I agree with you that he kind of lost his magic. I don't feel his humor recently, although I haven't watched any of his recent movies yet.

i saw his 2009 movie Imagine That on HBO, and his acting was still the same as his previous movies. Meet Dave his 2008 movie i saw it also on HBO and the humor touch was also the same as his previous movies. it was just a repetition of a big mouth, noisy person. well that is only my opinion, yours might be different when you see his movies. thanks a lot for the response.

he's funny, he's just more of a family guy since dr. doolittle came out and then a few more family movies. I don't like his singing and that stupid laugh but he's ok

I like Eddie Murphy. I agree with you, he is not as funny as he used to be. I did like him in the movie Trading Places. also in the beverly hills cop movies and of course coming to america. I think most comics become a little dry over the years.
